Fantastic video. Still a plot hole. The fellowship should have spent their time making alliances with other hold fasts and kingdoms and them gathered their forces for one big'ol fight at the black gate. This would distract everyone (including they eye) and then they just fly over to Mt.Doom and take care of business

High traction and handling with low weight seems to be the sweet spot with me. Turns are really unforgiving in MK8 and with all the different speed boosts you're able to get I feel like "not fucking up as much as possible" is a better angle than "gotta go fast!"
