Ok, so here are the thoughts in my head (and others based on comments), but you need to ultimately know what is "right" for your friend.

Just tossing in the info I found out yesterday, this is NOT DLC. It is a stand alone game and you don't have to have the original Shogun 2 to play it.
Parents delight in their children and creations. Things my kids like have a sweet spot in my heart, even if I normally can't stand it. Its nice to hear this bit of personal info out of a story we pretty much read impersonally.
I am familiar that this game exists, but I know nothing about it. I didn't even realize it was targeted toward women. I would say that this problem is not a Kotaku thing, it is a Western thing. This game was not promoted at all, so falls short because people view it as "another Japanese game" and is on the PSP which…
I see your point, but I have been calling games co-op since the 80's when it applied. It was how it was explained to my Mom that Ikari Warriors was different than games like Combat on the Atari. It was cooperative, not competitive. Multiplayer is the term that has been burned into my brain over the last 7 years. I…
Sorry if I misconstrued what your message was, when I read the "yeah but..." at the beginning I read that as a "contrary to what you said" and with that in mind there was absolutely nothing to back up what you were saying. If we were speaking it probably wouldn't have sounded that way to me.
absolutely! be quiet! don't say those things to me! I can't hear you la la la la la
Together is a horrible term. Yes, it is warmer and more inviting, but it is nothing without context. Multiplayer tells you there are multiple players (real people, not AI). Co-op indicates multiple people who work cooperatively in the game rather than competitively.
Wow. Sonic Youth. I must say it's been more than a few years since I listened to them or even heard their name mentioned.
Right, but just because Hitler killed 6 million Jews and I only killed 5 doesn't make me okay because he was much worse than I am. Guilty is guilty.
Not only is it spread to every rated game, but the warning label dropped the "Excessive" Exposure, which changes the perception of what is going on.
You should make your argument as to why. People who may have one and have the good graces to part with it would want to know it is going to a good home and not some dip head.
Yeah, I figured this would be the case. What they needed to do was not release this as a game. It should have been the MP for RE6. The campaign they threw on top of this for a game... that should have been DLC.
Dammit! Lost again.
You just made me chuckle while I was swallowing and choked on my own spit.
Sorry to say it, but the price is where you have the issue, not the game. Yes, I hate online passes, but you could have gotten the game brand new direct from EA for $30 over the last week or two (they had a 50% sale), or currently Newegg has a deal for $40 new. There are frequently deals on the game, you just have to…
Wow, this hits hard coming from you. I know what you are talking about, but only sort of. I haven't played ACR because after ACB I vowed never to play their MP until they made it good. I have yet to hear that they have, and this confirms it.
True, but the world was different then. People played for different reasons and they played differently.
I think wireless controllers, or should I say "standard" wireless controllers is a top feature of this generation. There were wireless controllers before, but they were not 1st party and always had a dongle and ate up batteries like cookie monster does cookies. So in that regards, they really sucked until this gen. I…
True, but the counter argument is that the online communities has created the problems of bad SP games because the focus is MP, the dramatic drop in split screen and LAN capabilities, the DLC dilemma, etc... So did it create more bad than good?
