How else do you cool a Subaru boxer engine?

Disaster? The undercarriage photos look much better than most 914's, all I see is lumpy undercoating and a small bit of surface rust that could use a coat of POR15. As the owner of a TR6 that is 100% surface rust on the bottom, this looks like a dream.

Those wanting a Boxster should get a Boxster. This isn’t a Boxster.

Yep, I’m no fan of the wheels either. If it doesn’t sell in the next week I’ll give the car plastic surgery to change its identity. Maybe shave the mustache.

The hoi polloi’s opinion of a K20 Insight bothers me not a whit. Unlike you, I don’t subscribe to popular = better.

If I keep replying to your rude comments, will you eventually go super nova? If so, please send photos of the crater.

The original weight was 1860 lbs then subtract the stock engine, IMA batteries and their heavy controllers and add the K20. The weight gain is less than 100 lbs. I’ve seen fuel efficiency in the upper 30's on the interstate, but then again I *also* own a stock Insight which is the go-to car for road trips.

I bought the car with the red wheels already installed thinking they’d eventually grow on me. Turns out I’m also not a red-wheels man, but I never axed them either. Funny thing about aesthetics: one person’s preference is another’s poison. If I was keeping the car I’d tint it dark, put early Fit alloys on it and lose

Oops my bad, I got the number of irrelevant-to-the-argument cars that you posted at me wrong.

You’re the one who posted a dozen links to other cars, not me.

Again, that’s NOT the point. You’re arguing something I never said. My car is well-priced if you’re in the market for a K20a swapped 1800 lb Insight. I did NOT say it’s better than a M3 Supra Huracan Hellcat etc. Admittedly it’s a small market that doesn’t include you.

You either misunderstood my statement re. the ‘math’ behind this swap or you’re being purposely obtuse. If you’re the kind of oddball who wants the world’s fastest gen-1 Insight then you’re looking at a heap-o-money to do one. The shop that specializes in this swap charges $21,000 bones, which is a lot more than 1/2

Thanks! It’s cheap for what it is - and there’s a conspicuous OBO next to the price which means I’m willing to wiggle, jiggle or do the mambo.

Any car is more interesting when we fantasize about them at magically low prices.

As I own both a stock Insight and also the K20 swapped one here, I can state first hand that hypermiling is great on long interstate trips - but around town all you’re doing is slowing everyone else down. So the K20 Insight is the one that gets the groceries and does the commuting. It’s a win - win.

Christ man where’s this mythical $13,500 S2000 that isn’t beat to hell?

You have my deepest sympathies. I honestly feel your pain. Were it me, I’d feel as if that parent had already passed away as they’d be so unrecognizable.
