Good article, Madeleine. I hope that Jez can keep skewering celebrities wrt rape culture, regardless of past stumbles. These are the sort of conversations that need to be had.

What else? One more and she can have a hat trick.

Interesting, I thought that was only if you definitely wanted to reply. That did work though. :)

I agree wholeheartedly with you.

On 3…MISANDRY!

I prefer cannoli with my bribes, but it's a personal choice.

That one got a mouthful-of-coffee snort.

Welcome back, Lindy. Your nightly dirt bag was missed.

Ugh, Side Show Bob really needs to sit down.

Not all priests devote homilies to ranting against contraception. There is a spectrum of beliefs, even within the Church hierarchy.

Ugh, so glad I picked a school without a football team.

So you're affirming my choice of undergrad schools, right? :P

I want "Do you even Pubmed?" to have the shelf life of LENTILS. Let's make a Thanksgiving promise to ourselves to make this happen.

My thoughts exactly. I have such conflicting opinions in re: Zahi Hawass. But it was announced that he was ousted from his antiquities position some time ago and I haven't heard anything since.

"Once the boy was born, Ms. McKenna filed in New York for temporary custody. But on May 30, a Family Court referee refused, rebuking Ms. McKenna for 'unjustifiable conduct' and 'forum shopping' and making the unusual decision to leave the case in California even though the baby was born and lived in New York."

Or maybe they're just concerned about all the other fetuses in utero that are appropriated every day by other women that have no one to speak for them.

Fair enough. She pops up in the NYT article, as mentioned upthread, in a not so flattering light.

I disagree with the premise that a pregnant woman can appropriate a fetus in utero. I do not need either Miller or McKenna to be martyrs beyond reproach to take issue with that statement from the court.
