For a $400 million per year budget, that car damn well better be faster.

At what point does it stop becoming open wheel racing?
I worked one of the corners at Barber Motorsports for the Indy tire test yesterday. The cars look better in person than in the pics and they're FAST.
And by the way, Will Power and Scott Dixon are flat out 2 of the best drivers on planet earth. If they were in another series, they would be mentioned alongside the best F1 drivers today.
Way faster. Most track records will fall this year. Also, the high downforce/no power steering combo is making hustling one of these around for too long a real bear. The drivers are already talking about needing to get stronger neck muscles.
You know what is totally bad ass about these aero kits? They create so much down force, combined with Indy Car's lack of power steering that it's requiring the drivers to be the best athletes in motor sport.
I'm ok with the new aero packages.
And the bigger question: who cares?
It is worth noting that 17 cars in this test on the harder black tires were faster than last year's Pole time on red tires.
No race car team should give one dry shit about anything outside of performance.
I would dare say it is neither and unique.
Lets look at some historical Indy 500 and F1 cars for the answer.
The back end really looks like a prototype, which I don't see as a problem.
I think the bigger problem is, if it's so hard to program, which the devs must surely realise, stop making it so integral to the systems running your city. Ease up on it a little.
I think you are missing the bigger point- paper towel or no paper towel you aren't at any significant risk of infection.
Not one automaker has chosen to forgo their OEM solution in cars with Car Play and Android Auto, let alone completely delete the FM/AM antenna, so every point you made is irrelevant.
Complaining about something you don't have to use or even acknowledge the existence of is the epitome of being a luddite.
I'm pretty confident that anyone bad mouthing CarPlay hasn't used it.
"works"
Fuck Carplay, fuck that Google shit, fuck smartphone integration. I have an Android, I don't want my favorite future car to have an Apple infotainment system.
