as someone who does minor league racing, nobody really goes to the events. if the point of sponsoring a car is awareness, you should sponsor a car that races where people either see it in person (indycar/NHRA) or on tv AND in person (Nascar).

the track looks good, the drivers seem to think it will race really well, and it adds a nice cheap way to have an extra race in a market that heavily supports the series.

indycar is an actual racing series, the other is a political car show. sorry for your badpinion.

thanks for the 4th grade attempt at understanding geopolitics, really a great insight to how the ignorant and uninformed would view this action.

you literally arent making a point. the US is in decline because it doesnt fund even BETTER weapons than we already have? your definition of 'decline' is what shiny weapon systems we develop? not economic competitiveness, not growth, but weapons systems?

lol no

perhaps you should try not thinking in your head like a normal person instead of putting it on the internet so we all know how bad your thoughts are

its 2014, specsheet comparisons dont mean dick.

toyota moved to texas for the tax handouts, and to cut their payroll. they dont actually want their current people to make the move, they want to slash payroll to meet the lower cost of living in Texas. lucky for them, nobody is going to go to Plano from Hermosa Beach.

ive been to dallas, and all of texas, many times.

wait until you see the transfer numbers. nissan had 42% of its employees make the move from Gardena to better-recruiting Tennessee. two years later, it was 29%. exactly how many are going to move to Plano? like i said, sub 20%. which is the point.

youre seriously trying to argue that anyone with half of a brain would move to Plano TX with a pay-cut over Hermosa Beach California? seriously. seriously you are trying to unironically, completely seriously make this argument? right now. right here. really trying to make it happen. for real. no foolies.

i wouldnt say 'only' but it sure as hell is a large consideration, unless you plan on sitting inside all day everyday in your ACed suburb trackhome.

i wouldnt worry too much, nobody with any sort of brain or job prospects is going to move to Plano-fuckin-Texas from Huntington or Hermosa Beach. they are going to get sub-20% to move, max. which is sort of the point.

maybe you should calm down and not be such a petulant child, nobody gives a shit how you want things pronounced.

toyota took a hand out from a shithole willing to reach into its pockets and screw other places to try to help its own job prospects. in the end, it will amount to maybe 1-2k new jobs, and the vast majority of toyotas good employees will bail and they will end up with massive 'brain-drain', like every other company in

toyota chased a hand-out and is going to watch all of their good employees wave goodbye. nobody in their right mind is going to move to plano-fuckin-texas if they can get other offers.

because its funny, learn how to take a joke.

found the pissypants ferrari fan who doesnt realize what jalopnik is.

youre making an assumption that it will spur people outside texas to move to texas. if nissan's move to the much more employee recruiting friendly Tennessee only got 48% of their employees to move, exactly how many current toyota employees, living a block from the beach in Hermosa or Huntington in near perfect
