Given Amanda's reckless spending and her completely rash actions, it makes me think that she might be really, really manic. More specifically, a manic episode with psychotic symptoms. My experience tells me she probably has Bipolar I Disorder or Schizoaffective Disorder more so than Schizophrenia.
