I hope he changes back into Colin Farrell. He was easily the best thing about the first film (though Jacob and the sisters were good too) and I can’t imagine anyone being excited when the twist revealed him to really be - and downgraded him to - just another quirky Johnny Depp character.

They’re not blind. As the quote goes “You are waking up, as Germany once did, to the awareness that 1/3 of your people would kill another 1/3, while 1/3 watches”

Hey Savage,

The solution to LW#1's problem is to break up with this guy.

First: It’s Tenacious D — embarrassing is a feature, not a bug.

I’m always in favour of written, directed and produced by women, so no disagreement here. But I actually like that it’s not very mucht about the “difficulties of being a woman during the time shown”.

I’m mean, it’s not glossed over entirely - there are always more or less subtle reminders about the traps just waiting

Here I was, thinking that the missing touch was the stubbled, smarmy face of a middle-aged white guy.

I think this right here is a great point. He could be a one time Trump voter who is horrified by the consequences of his presidency

I disagree with that last bit of advice. Yes, all the Trump voters I’ve had the misfortune of working with (or even just briefly interacting with) have been awful people with pathologically low levels of empathy for everyone else.

Iirc it originated from Puerto Rican LGBTQ+ message boards back in the l33t speak days and was pushed/brought into the mainstream by a psychology student that was a member of those boards. It was picked up by white liberals while other Latin and Hispanic communities scoffed at the term.

Thank you for a thoughtful and intelligent reply to this.   Those are valid points and make sense.

As a Latinx person, I kind of wasn’t crazy about it when I first heard it, mostly because of it’s awkwardness. But whatever, I got over it, and understand why it’s needed. Although once I heard Neal Brennan pronounce it as “La-Tinks”, I can’t read it any other way now.

This reminds me of the heist episode of Rick & Morty in terms of "Christ, Dan, we get it, you don't like the thing, let it go"

I’m with ya. This is a show where two important straight characters are introduced and fall in love about two minutes after meeting, yet someone is bitching because we didn’t get an entire episode about Dani’s budding lesbianism? This isn’t Lost. The flashbacks aren’t there to create three-dimensional characters. They

The problem with that argument is that it ignores that that the non-Enlightenment people of the time were *also* racist. You have to look at the past like visiting a foreign country. The people there won’t necessarily agree with you on all points of what’s right and true. What you have to look at is what these

And they would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those damn eventual realizations that racism is fucking stupid!

What. He’s a satirist, that’s like the whole point of satire.

Now playing

wait, you’re telling me people willing to sing about jews being thrown down wells to free their country ARE RACIST and VIOLENT ASSHOLES!??? holy shit really??

Though they really should have.

And I suspect, deep down, many of these people know it, too.”
