I don't mean to Necro this thread, but the better question would be: "What is the power per unit of engine mass?" That is where the LS will always win. Total engine package, not engine displacement.

Yeah, still not impressed when we've been getting well over 500 crank HP and more torque out of junkyard 3800's for years. Oh, and at an installed price of less than the air intake of the engine above.

I like all these engines. But the HP/L argument is only valid for race regulations. These cars are not being tuned for a GT race competition, so HP/L is a moot attribute.

Did you forget about the 4.4l Supercharged Northstar that made 469hp in 2007? Or the 215 Buick motor that became the legendary Rover V8?
