I have never had a problem with celebrities using their influence to help causes, especially the ones that go above and beyond when the cameras stop rolling. Are some poseurs? Sure. Are many genuine. Absolutely.

Celebrities who raise money for anything are always chastised for not giving enough themselves, no matter how much they actually give. It’s entirely possible that some of them did. Some celebrities do things quitely, without notice, as we found out over and over in the months after Prince’s death. Some people just want to quietly do good things.
