I'm really happy about that too! I really like good-hearted dummies; as fun as Greg was, the "damaged cynic with a heart of gold all the fans fall for" (aka "the Loki"…provided you're pretty generous with that "heart of gold" thing) gets kinda old, and Josh's willful simplicity is a refreshing counterpoint. But he was

So I'm the only person who really likes josh, huh? His anxiety and serial monogamy/fear of commitment are really fun to unpack, he has a great voice and better dance moves, and his face is like an angel's.

Interestingly, I feel like I'm one of the only people who consistently finds Paula relatable. Not perfect, but she and Rebecca both seem to have very similar flaws, and are therefore very similarly at fault here. ("You Go First" in the next episode is kinda a fantastic example of this; depending how you look at it,

I feel weird thinking that the "You Go First" song was genuinely beautiful and moving, but it was one of my favorites all season, if not of the entire show.

He looks like one of my exes, so I'm in the uncomfortable position somewhere between "Yeah, he's pretty hot" and "His face makes me want to throw up."

Their relationship is my true OTP at this point.

I know there are a lot of reasons to hate Josh, but I think his adorable stupidity is too charming to ever really be upset about.

To put your minds at rest for another year, it's been renewed for a third season. I want to marry the head of the CW, because he straight-up gave a speech saying the show is too good to cut: http://variety.com/2017/tv/…

Gotta be honest, that was the only song last season I'd consider ruined by censoring. I almost always preferred the uncensored versions, but "I give good parent" almost doesn't make sense censored.

Work on emphasizing the Heather. XD

Well, at the risk out sounding super deep: we ARE Josh in the moment.

But it's so HARD when we can't pick a villain! (I know I sound sarcastic, but I'm about 70% serious.)

Your comment actually sums up how I feel about Joshbecca . . . I think that's the best part of this show; from the characters to the viewers, everyone's kinda right, but they're also kinda dead wrong, depending how you look at it.

THAT'S an element that needs to be developed more fully.

Gah, I'm totally spamming the replies (sorry!), but I did just want to throw in that growth isn't really an upward slope. It's a lot less even than that, and having backslides strikes me as pretty realistic.

I agree, but I also think the show didn't want to be that obvious. We know she's making a bad decision, but we also already know that she's capable of self-awareness. I almost feel like a song about it would either feel false (much like Bloom's actual "We Don't Need a Man," which is hilarious) or like they're trying

Well, the barometer we're using is Rebecca. Paula is crazy in many ways, no doubt, but compared to Rebecca and Darryl, she's actually not THAT much over the line. I hope that their relationship works and becomes healthier for both of them (and I appreciated how much they missed each OTHER, not just the uses of their

I think they just weren't right for each other. Josh needs someone a lot more laid-back and accepting, and she needs someone ambitious and driven, but able to see the good in her. I have no doubt that both of them have people they could be perfectly happy with (whether we've met them on the show or not), but it

Well, but we know Greg likes the messed-up ones. That attraction to the unattainable has to have something to do with his constant interest in her.
