Honestly, I’m not that concerned about this either way. This practice was allowed for years without incident- I don’t really see the harm in it. I don’t really feel any less safe knowing that off duty cops can’t carry, it’s just curious that after however many incident-free years they had that they decided to change…

It would be my understanding that you would not be allowed to drink while carrying a firearm- in which case I don’t really see the harm that it would cause to have an extra 20-40 people who are trained in firearm use and could assist in the unlikely event of an attack.
