i like garageband for ringtones sometimes but i find that it lowers the quality. i usually just edit it in itunes in the options and select the times i want then i convert it to AAC format with a pretty standard quality and then i go and rename the file m4r. you have to delete it from itunes library (but not off the

i wish this was in canada :(

if you have common sense then you don't need AV software, but common sense isn't that common anymore. ;o)

frostwire is fabulous.

@baest: and it's a strawberry. if you have magnification on when you scroll over it in the dock you can see the seeds. :o) that is so freakin' cute!!! haha

sa-weet! this is quite the sexy text editor, i must say! i've been using textwrangler for my html coding but i'm excited about this one... it looks nicer than textwrangler!

awesome!! i've been renaming my ACC files manually to *.m4b ... not so fun!

i use a brita on-tap filter. it's faster than a regular brita and doesn't take up as much space. and you don't use the bottles. also, bottled water tastes like plastic, depending on which brand you buy. and some bottled water is just plain disgusting (like this american kind my canadian self bought one time.. with

so this article expects fresh produce, eggs, meat and dairy to last a whole month? for someone who enjoys salads, i find it hard to shop once a month. you get the freshest, most nutrient-rich foods from farmers markets. i usually go once a week. someone living on a month of groceries must be eating non-perishable food

i disagree re: the mortar and pestle. i have one and i never use it. it's useless. the most efficient way to grind spices is with a coffee grinder. i have a coffee grinder for this purpose specifically. you can pick one up around here for $12, you don't need a super heavy duty one. i'd add that to the essentials.

How do we get around the regional limitations, e.i. let me watch this ish i'm from Canada! eh....

i'm really happy that adium now supports msn offline messages, because that really would peev me because often my connection is kinda wonky so i'd sign on and off and i'd get offline messages but wouldn't see them if i was using adium. i'm thrilled now that it supports it!

i don't really like this... i don't like the idea of signing up.. i don't like how it's not automatic and you have to right click "view in nodobe"... then again i'm picky. i'd rather download the document, see it in quick view on mac's leopard, and toss it. that requires very little loading of any plug-ins or apps.

SEXY!

@Archnemesis_Goldenhair: that show can have some tacky stuff. i've seen things and was like "what??" ... just because there's clothing available by a certain label doesn't mean it looks good.

there's a mac desktop app called Schoolhouse. it looks pretty cool.

VOTE: VisualHub (for video) (mac) .. for movies. works on some audio too i think. if i want to download a movie using safari's activity monitor, it's in FLV, so if i want to put it on my iPhone i use visualhub to convert it to iTunes-friendly format.

i gave this a shot, as i'm an avid iCal user. i don't think i love it though. the way it all looks is a bit messy... maybe i'm just picky, but as much as i love the HUD look, i don't think it works in this instance. it slows my computer down a bit too. i'm going to remove it if my system preferences window ever opens

@TetsuBo: we DO need carbohydrates, but what kinds are they? not grains! not legumes. not starches like from potato (and grains and legumes). we need carbs from vegetables and fruits.. those are carbs too.. but we would not benefit from isolating these carbs, it's all the other stuff fruits and veggies give us, along

@sewob: someone's a hater... and an extremist vegan. just so you know, i eat organic, so the cows i eat live happy and full lives. i'd rather eat happy cows and look fantastic than eat grains and beans and look like a bloated sad cow.. hahahah.. not that i did, i just felt like it. i feel much healthier now. oh, keep
