COTD

I had someone at work in the past month or so make remarks about us driving our toddler around in a 2014 CR-V that doesn’t have automatic braking, blind spot detectors, or lane keep assist. Said person just bought a 2017 Forester. I normally drive a 2000 Accord into work, but I rarely take the baby with me.

At first I was surprised at cars like the Boxster, SLK, and Corvette, but when I thought about it, not really at all. Toys that see more garage than road. I think the only one that really surprises me on here is the TT.

This. This guy makes zero sense. he’s $17k over a $12K budget with the mustang. there isn’t a car on that list that isn’t $20k over his budget.

“Allie’s beloved Beetle was getting a bit too cramped to haul her kids around, but she was determined not to get your typical mom mobile.”

Nobody asked “So when are what did they buy?”, because that’s just jibberish.

Budget: $8,000 to $12,000

I live in California. My rule is, better to just go without the front plate and roll the dice that you won’t get pulled over.

We need a Jalop editor scoreboard here! How many actually followed advice given?

“Hey, I need a car that’s family friendly”

But with nowhere near the same penalty as a DUI... and therein lies the problem.

I’ve been saying it for years. We need to call them drive arounds. This is what happens when you send mixed messages.

I never understood this. The dealer I used to work at would get allocated like 10 of a car. We’d option 7 of them in popular colors and options, but the remaining 3 would be unique cars. Those remaining 3 were often the ones which held gross the best. Every so often we got a dud that just wouldn’t sell, but it’s worth

My son even acts like a jerk when he drives it.

Smell...like the last throes of a dying empire.

Serious question: has there ever been one such accident that is proven to be from mechanical failure?

We certainly can say from life experience that “unintentional acceleration”(read - he hit the wrong pedal) is far and away the most likely cause here.

Speculating for sure. I’d be surprised if it was mechanical.

Yearly testing for senior citizens and affordable mass transit. Until then, stories like this one will be all too common.

Pretty much... He probably realizes that without Edd, the show will plummet into obscurity. I have no interest in watching Mike pretend to negotiate with people.
