According to this article, the Golf R is the best option for most people who aren’t buying primarily for track use: better fuel efficiency, tighter turning circle, choice of transmissions, AWD, nicest interior, quietest, lightest with AWD (this one surprised me)... the Type R really is going to be a fanboys-only car.
