I mean, I feel like that’s not that big of deal TBH.

Remember when that draft was a toss-up at #1 between Smith and Rodgers and then Rodgers fell 23 spots to go to Green Bay? I love Alex Smith.

“If you’re nervous, just use ‘right’. It sounds positive and better than ‘uh’ or ‘y’know’. Go with right all the time if you have to.”

Completely at odds with Alex Smith’s usually availability, since he’s generally what’s left.

Better than Alt, right?

Bobody’s Nurfict.

Welp, you know what they say, nobody’s Burfict.

I think there’s a deeper symbolism at work, though. In interviews over the past three seasons, players have often said that they felt as though the league sees them as property. And even though contract negotiation is supposed to be a chance for a player to make a demand for himself, that feeling might end up stronger

I can buy a bookshelf, or I can make it. The bought bookshelf is objectively “better” and would be preferred by any objective observer.

I look at it and think the pundits are trying to protect the agents — since the agents are the pundits’ main sources of information. Gotta keep them happy!

There is a level of expertise here that the pundits miss. While Sherman is not an expert in contract negotiations, the pundits seem to incorrectly assume that agents are as well. This is not always true!

There’s also the point Sherman has made a couple of times, not even mentioned here— doing it himself had value in and of itself. He has ownership in a way he has not before, and no agent could ever give him that. Is he going to admit that he could have gotten better? No. But in a time when you can’t kneel in protest

The restaurant can’t control the cleaniness of the camera, it could be rolled around in muck for all they know. He needs to demonstrate that his camera is clean before this was acceptable, but that would require asking permissions which he clearly didn’t do.

It is kind of rude to not ask someone if its okay to film them.

It is kind of rude to not ask someone if its okay to film them. I don’t think that is particular to Japan. The sanitary concerns are real as well and I assure you people would freak out about it in America as well.

The guy that filmed this video has lived in Japan for a while so doesn’t get to play the ignorant tourist card.

You are absolutely not; when I first read the title, I thought, “Did the camera catch staff watching porn in the back or something?”

Am I the only one that read the title and thought it said Pornography instead of Photography? lol I did a double take when I opened and started reading the article.

I think this is really about respecting the privacy and hygiene of others. It’s not really expecting everyone to follow a long list of customs, but rather a strong but rational reaction to a foreigner pulling a stunt that potentially invades the privacy that you expect when eating at a restaurant.

Living in Japan for so many years has made it so that foreigners like me have to answer questions asked by Japanese about foreigners like him. There’s always idiots that just have to push the boundaries and just refuse to try and understand Japanese social rules. Most are unspoken, but these particular foreigners need
