On the contrary, I think a lot of people like to hate-click on LaVar stories. The performative outrage of a good ol’ fashioned internet pile on drives a lot of the content here, and LaVar in the headline/URL is a pretty pointed statement of the editorial decision for this story.

Quite honestly, the entire headline and opening paragraph reeked of being too cute with the writing stylistics, because I couldn’t really understand what was accomplished without several re-reads.
