Yeah, who wouldn't know that? The whole segment was terribly unfunny. That's what he decided to go with for his very first show?

I don't know, I only watched the first episode, but I thought it was awful. I thought the monologue was not only lame, but cringe-worthy. It didn't seem the audience was laughing much at all, and I started to feel bad for him. I never thought he was good on Weekend Update either, so I guess I'm just not a fan of his…
What?!?! You mean Cameron didn't actually meet a real life terminator, just some actor? How will I ever trust anything she says again?
I agree that there is still a lot of great content here and anyone comparing AV Club to Buzzfeed is really overreacting. And really, a lot of the problems most people have with the site are more Disqus-related than anything. But I think some people do have legitimate concerns. The combination of the redesign, problems…
So, every review Todd VanDerWerff has ever written is a book?
Are you guys going to review the first week Late Night with Seth Meyers like you did with Jimmy Fallon? I'd just be curious what people thought of it, if anyone even watched it. I only watched the first episode, and I thought it was pretty much crap. None of the monologue jokes landed, and he just seemed really out of…
While I agree that The AV Club has been going downhill lately, I don't see the problem with this column at all. I've really enjoyed all of Cameron Esposito's articles so far, and I think they're a great addition to the site.
I have a Disqus account, and I haven't really had any problems with it, and I even merged my accounts (I created a Disqus account with the same name as my old one). Disqus is probably causing problems for everyone holding on to their AV Club accounts because they want people to merge.
It's true that when there's a letter about two people who are incompatible, but they still want to make it work anyway, he will often advise that the monogamous one should give in a little more, which is the is the opposite advice a lot of other columnists would probably give.
I don't see Dan as thinking that monogamous people are selfish or controlling exactly. His advice is almost always that monogamous and non-monogamous people are sexually incompatible. He's never going to suggest that two people who are happy being monogamous together should start going to swingers' parties just for…
I agree with the poster above me. I don't think your only options are to find someone you're wildly passionate about or hire a sex worker. There's a middle ground there. I'm not saying your first time should be a one night stand with the first person who will have you, but that you don't necessarily need to wait until…
"Find the box that's gay, and CRUSH IT! Okay?"
Yeah, but is nothing else on because it gets those numbers, or does it get those numbers because nothing else is on?
Don't blame yourself. I'm pretty sure the AV Club article from last week about which celebrity's death would make you cry is to blame.
There was also that hitchhiker from "Clear".
Now, nobody enjoys a good laugh more than I do. Except for my wife, and some of her friends. Come to think of it, most people enjoy a good laugh more than I do, but that's beside the point.
Wow, really? Now I'll be even more crushed when this show gets cancelled.
Wheel of Carpet Samples was so delightfully weird anyway, but that one with John Cleese had me in stitches. I don't know what it was, but I just thought it was so goddamn funny.
Yeah, I think he understands his limitations as a host, so that's why he gets help from other people like Higgins, the Roots, his writers, and his guests. It makes it more interesting that way.
I agree. He's not great at improvising, so his interviews are pretty boring, but his planned segments can be really funny. The Brian Williams bit was great, and the charades was fun to watch (I haven't seen last nights episode yet, so I don't know about the Will Ferrell bit). You can tell he and his writers put a lot…
