we've come to a point in time where people start asking about L4D instead of HL3. youngsters has never heard of that thing half life - and nobody tells thema about it. what up-

During an intoxicated haze a few nights ago, I postulated that Valve is going to release a game some time in the future, simply titled 3. And its going to tie everything together.

I'm aware that L4D3 may well be on the cards, but I think Jason was making a joke about that fact that most people will be asking for information on a different franchises third instalment.

People should also not ask when the game comes out, but if they're currently working on it. Because, like Andrew Hendry said, if we ask for the date we could not get anything.

No no, I appreciate that. And I understand that he doesn't HAVE to tell us anything as if we are somehow entitled to it. My comment was really just to show that asking the question doesn't guarantee info on the game.

actually l4d3 is rumored to be the launch title for Source 2. It's fairly easy to make. Director AI is written already, zombie AI is written (for the most part). It's a good way to test the stability of an engine with a bunch of ai controlled entities and 8 player multiplayer

Well, to be fair, he isnt promising any satisfying answers.

Between the trash that populate it and the trouble navigating the site/threads at times...I see no reason to go. I honestly believe Reddit is worse than 4chan at this point and I stopped going to 4chan awhile ago.

"Where's Left 4 Dead 3? hahahahahaha.

Newell's discretion! Also, the high-interest questions tend to bubble up to the top of the AMA. I imagine he'll have to say SOMETHING about the game everyone wants to hear about. (Alien Swarm 2)

Probably any question that doesn't involve Half Life 3, which should whittle it down to a very small, manageable number.

The $500,000 question:

I hope he gets spammed with requests for Half Life 3. Seriously, I hope every single question is "When are we getting Half Life 3?" Forget HL3 itself, I just want to see Gabe's reaction.

But there's no way to answer all the questions that will be asked so how will they be picked?

So Newell has agreed to participate in one of Reddit's greatest services, the frankly-titled Ask Me Anything. Once his charity hits $500,000 in hospital donations—which should be easy, considering this is Gabe Newell and the Internet—he'll let anyone ask him questions about life, the universe, and Half-Life.

This man is the greatest.
Too bad about reddit, though, that's a moron crowd.

As far as communities go, yea I agree that reddit is pretty shitty.

Gaben spends time on the worst website on the Internet?

Half-Gabe 3: Life Confirmed.
