Nah, he accidentally fell off his balcony. Tragik.

Over drinks at a strip club, of course.

How is pointing out the latest track-minded development of a constantly evolving platform on a forum “gatekeeping”?! Honestly, c’mon.

Tone deaf? LOL. This ain’t a #MeToo discussion, dude.

That makes perfect sense. And perfect HP/torque IMHO. It’s easy to overpower these little things, as this post makes clear! Much want.

Yeah, I think I overstated weight savings a bit — IIRC, an acquaintance running one in time attack said ~70 pounds but I can’t recall exactly and a forum post says the LF is 340 pounds (stock BP is ~400). Regardless, saving any weight at all while bumping to 350hp blows my mind.

Just read up on the J35 — Wow, you’re right, it sounds like another awesome choice. Someone said they’re a bit heavy but I don’t know what that’s relative to (the LFx is ~340 supposedly) and I haven’t gone very far down the rabbit hole. Yet...

I’m told by my pals (who run every kind of swap) that a Honda K-swap is really the very best for a Miata now (and currently far more than the LFx I prop above). No idea on J35 support but the K24's from TSX’s are now a phenomenally well-develped plug and play kit for the NA/NB, they’re oddly reasonably priced, and

Oh, I envy you. I only get to crew for an LFX Miata (though I have a track-dedicated NB). The speed of an ACTUAL perfectly balanced car with an ACTUAL perfect HP/weight ratio is pretty baller.

Not just that — Reading about this penalty has got to make a lot of people reconsider answering their jury summons altogether.

This is precisely why the real swappers started putting GM LFX V6's in Miatas; They make the right amount of horsepower/torque for the platform, they’re super compact (to keep weight low and back), and they weigh almost 100 pounds LESS than the stock Miata engine, making handling amazing!

Can’t understand the negative comments to this; It’s true, it makes it scary, and it’s a very, very real impediment to its use. People with 500hp LS swaps frequently find them all but undriveable on track and dangerous on the road.

It’s my opinion that any safety car intrusion and affect on strategy is sufficiently confusing to be an impediment to new viewership.

They have to do those commercials. “Reliable” is the price of entry. They know that “emotion” is needed now. I made ads for them 15 years ago and they said so even back then

I worked at Mazda for 11 years and he is right. They turn down warranty claims alot and it hurts people bad. It is not everyone as you got yours. It just happens too much and I have not seen that in past or current jobs.

No, he/she is right. Mazda sometimes deny warranty repairs. After working there for over a decade I saw and heard about it. Your good experience is makes me feel good to hear but too many Mazda buyers have warranty claims turned down. It is a big problem in my opinion. They have a terrible repeat buyer rate and this

I worked there for a decade. He/she is right. Mazda is rejecting warranty claims to cut costs. I’ve worked at other manufacturers and they didn’t and don’t do this.

Unfortunately this is true. I worked there and heard about this way too much.

I worked there for years and left two years ago. Avoid it. I hate saying that but Mazda has big problems that resulted in cost cutting or gouging for repairs. A lot of drivers are finding extreme difficulty getting Mazda to agree to warranty repairs and they sometimes won’t do them correctly or at all.

I worked there. You’re 95% spot on. They tried to position premium because they can’t compete with mass market brands that make cars just as or more interesting to drive but with far better reputations for quality (which totally negates the move upward). They’re in a bad place.
