ksc11 - the reason I use pivot tables is because I’ve never learned Access. It’s a giant gap in my productivity/office-software-suite skills.

Steve - are you saying it’s okay that the shop charges a marked-up part in addition to a separate labor charge? It’s not clear in your post.

Interesting - I always found the opposite! Seems like it’s easier for me to dislodge plaque and food particles with floss than with brushing, and I’m always pleasantly surprised when brushing actually does it.

I floss before for similar reasons - brushing doesn’t dislodge tartar (flossing can), and then brushing afterwards will wash it away.

Star for being a dentist :-)

This is one of the better tips you guys have put out! In addition to the “Attachments” mailbox, I enabled “Unread” and “All Drafts.”

Starred for just the first six words... me too, m’brother.

Or that because you can’t fully solve the problem, you shouldn’t work towards it. My goal is world peace, and I’m probably not going to achieve it, but defusing an argument between my friends is still valuable.

Reminds me of the saying, “If your legs aren’t allowed to hurt when they break because that guy has no legs, then you’re also not allowed to be happy when you get a $10,000 raise because that guy over there got a $250,000 raise.”

Stupid reality and logistics. Always getting in the way :-)

I’ve thought about getting pizza delivery stores to provide EVs for their drivers, but it turns out they just push all the cost onto the drivers themselves, so I’d have to convince every pizza delivery driver in America that an EV is the best way to deliver pizza!

For what it’s worth, my wife drives our 2012 Leaf 60 miles round-trip every day with no charging at the workplace end. Our battery has lost 3 capacity bars (i.e. nearly “replacement-under-warranty” territory), and while it’s getting a little hairy, the car still works great for us.

My guess is that this car does not have a DC fast-charge port, which is what really makes the car viable. Around Houston, there are ~25 DC fast-charge stations that Leaf drivers can use, and for drivers of a 75-mile range car (60 miles with capacity loss) they’re a real life-saver.

Doug, the Model X will be ~$5,000 more than a comparably-equipped Model S.

I’ll put my flame suit on, but I’m one of the (apparently few?) people who loves the F50 and hates the F40. Maybe it’s because I became aware of cool cars right around the time the F50 came out, but I see it as the archetypal sports/supercar.

And then it’s like, “Why does that guy get access to an ‘alternate payment mechanism’ but I don’t?”

Thanks!

Eric - on the traffic ticket, would you have liked the opportunity to give blood rather than find the money to pay the fine? Having (fortunately) never been in that position myself, I’d appreciate your perspective - would you have found it degrading/insulting or a welcome alternative?
