I've always lived in Capital City, and I agree. My first trip down south was a little disappointing, it just felt like I drove beyond Westfield or something.

I learned this in Nassau the hard way. Learn from my extremely funny but scary example! I ran full tilt boogie into the water and promptly was knocked ass over teakettle repeatedly. Like, couldn't find the ground even though I was only in waist high water repeatedly. I've never been afraid of water and I'm super…
Every time I'm unfortunate enough to 'enjoy' this show I tell myself "it's really not nice to hate a little girl." And yet…
Dude (or Madam) I unironically like Zorro. That's one show that I totally enjoy on a whole new level (ahem, Guy Williams) than I did as a kid. Stuff gets strangely deep for a Disney serial.
I had to sneak around to watch MTV (hahaha, parents didn't like that rock 'n roll!) so DTV was never associated with MTV in my head until literally this moment. Obviously, I was a bright child.
I have Ducks Dance Too and Bug-A-Boo on my MP3 player. I'm the coolest kid of '85!
*rolls neck for cool down*
I happened to find ol' Chuck's Feels So Good album randomly the other day. Best believe it come home with me, I'll tell you what. Funnily enough, I don't mind it at all. (I do like the song Feels So Good 'cause I'm a dork.)
I've discovered LUSH cosmetics. I randomly saw a recommendation for a cleanser they make that uses polenta and I have a weird polenta addiction so I went to check it out. The salesperson that helped me actually steered me away from it- I have stupid sensitive skin that turns red at the suggestion of trauma and she was…
Dude! (or non-dude!) You'll have the best time. Go buy you a Tacky shirt and have lots of fun! (I went last year and got to meet Al and have my ticket autographed!)
So I'm starting a travel/adventure blog. For the longest, I only wrote fiction, but then I noticed that I was at my most passionate when I was talking about experiences I had, like I was trying to see this and be able to share how it was with others. I'm gonna start with my recent trip (which I posted into a forum and…
I'm happy to have wandered here to read this! High fives all around! :D
Tenacious D! "Yeah, one is all you need."
I didn't bite because of the price, on Kindle even, but I'm gonna have to check this out when I get some spare cash.
I'm rereading Jim Korkis' The Vault of Walt, which is a collection of random Walt Disney stories. Entertaining and easy to pick up and read on the go. Before that, Jon Jackson's On Edge, which is about his experiences as a figure-skater judge that leaves him in just the right place during the 2002 Salt Lake CIty…
To me, the vocals are what make it work- from long ago high school musicals, I learned how to sing where the words were understood, no slurring syllables allowed. It takes effort, and you can hear Dave Seville (I'm presuming) hitting his end 't's hard and ensuring you'd be able to at least know the song was in English.
…
Wait, he did the singing for the Chipettes (at least in The Chipmunk Adventure) too?
*mind blown*
My mom had a 45 of "Witch Doctor" so of course my sister and I would play it at 33 speed. We did that to the Stylistics too, so it wasn't like the Chipmunks were singled out. We just chopped and screwed before it was cool.
I kept asking my nieces where they were watching "my" Chipmunks, because I kept hearing the theme I remembered. In my defense, I smoke lots of pot.
I've been to Trinity County (Weaverville, to be exact) and yep, chill isn't exactly how I'd describe the townfolk. Great people, though.
China Beach didn't scare me, but the song Reflections made me sad. Since we didn't actually watch the show (and bedtime, 'cause kid) it just meant I'd go to sleep bummed.
Ha, I commented that this was my baby fandom (although I was 20 when this started, ahem) and yes. TWoP informed a lot of my TV watching over the years. SV will always have a small place in my heart for teaching me the ins and outs of so many fannish things. Also, without SV, I would've never found out that my mom has…
