Tyler, there was a Cold War era experimental AA gun system for the US Army that used a T250 37mm Gatling cannon. Maybe you could do an article on that someday, if only for the sheer size and power of such a thing! The shell was based on 40mm Bofors rounds, omg.

Basically, it goes BRRRRRRRRRP! and everything goes silent. Like, instantly :)

Not bad for a company that also makes kitchen appliances. I'll be sure to tell the family all about miniguns next time we shop for ovens and fridges hahahaha.

I was harping on the (lack of) rate of fire on aircraft cannons portrayed in a great many modern movies. All film directors should be made to read this article :)

ANYTHING looks better than a Youabian Puma, even a rusted wreck sitting in a Russian forest for 50 years.

It's like a slice of cake, only inedible!

Holy crap! Klingon brow ridges!

When I visit Malaysia I get "Captain Sense of Direction" virtually ALL the freaking time. I resort to whipping out my iPad, opening Apple Maps and navigating for the driver personally.

It also saves some money on the fare as Malaysian taxi drivers (especially in the capital, Kuala Lumpur) make it a point to

GPS is great at all but for drivers with no sense of direction, it won't help at all. Some degree of basic land navigation finesse is required before one can truly exploit electronic aids.

A Duesenberg daily driven would be so awesome that entire lanes of traffic will voluntary part before its majesty like a biblical event.

You raise a good point. The 'super' of yesteryear may be the 'beige' of tomorrow.

What awesome supercar doesn't catch fire? It's all part of the experience :)

Countach. I grew up with posters of it on my bedroom wall, quality models of it I brought to school and computer games where I drove it exclusively over all other supercars available. Countach FTW.

Hahaha! That sounds like a song.

Indeed this huge convoy just speaks of something "all too obvious" going on. Or is it some sort of sacrificial lamb for someone to shoot at to allow Russia an excuse to unleash retaliation? Sending unarmed (looking) soft vehicles into a conflict zone is not exactly sound strategy. Unless there was something planned

Yeahhh! THAT's how a multibarrel cannon really looks like.

There are plenty of YouTube videos showing aircraft strafing too. Which movie ever gets the "BRRRRRP" of Doom correct?

Indeed - seeing them duke it out with the VTOL robot ships was fantastic!

Avengers had a JSF with wingroot guns attacking the Helicarrier. Now that it's not in the middle of the night where I live, I recall Iron Man had the Raptor's gun in the right place, but very low rate of fire. Maybe they nerfed it to avoid having Iron Man being knocked out of the sky outright.

PacRim - should have used

Yep the F-22 has a Vulcan gunport but not on both sides. I have refreshed my memory properly - Iron Man has the gun at exactly at where the gunport is supposed to be, but was mainly disappointed about the rate of fire of the cannon in the movies. No BRRRRRRRRPP!

There was exactly just this sort of unit/tactic in Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Truck loaded with nuclear warhead. Drive into enemy base and detonate.
