My favorites will still probably be "Blink" and "Midnight," but I can't imagine this will be far behind.
Simply brilliant.
The score was also top notch.
Wow.
You must have an eye for puns.
It's a testament to this show that I could imagine Capaldi delivering exposition like that and making it sound… well, I don't want to say not ridiculous, but.
He has a pretty poor Doctor Who track record.
You know, I read that in Capaldi's voice, and it actually… kinda… worked.
There are a few episodes where Tennant's just on fire. "Midnight" comes to mind, as well as "The Waters of Mars." Plus, the final 10 minutes or so of "The End of Time."
I dunno. I feel like Tennant's right there too.
I came down here just to say "Man, they've really given Peter Capaldi some great material to sink his teeth into," but I should've figured that you'd have that all taken care of in the top comment.
Sam Swift's material veered dangerously back and forth between "Ha ha, these are pretty good!" and "Oof, just hang the bastard already!"
I just want to say that the callback to "The Fores of Pompeii" was fucking brilliant. Weaponized production notes. Bravo.
Well, yeah. It was the only other chair joke on Skaro.
I know the comparisons to "The God Complex" are right there on the doorstep, but this actually reminded me much more of "Silence in the Library."
I'm hoping he debuts as a heel, though. As much as I like the guy, his NXT run was hella stale by the end.
It's all right. It's The Miz and Maryse, so there will most assuredly be more in the future.
I was hoping for Neville or Balor. Hoping it wouldn't be Cesaro or Crews.
Three straight pretty good RAWs, a generally fun MITB and a decidedly non-awful SmackDown last week.
