One tidbit about true feminism: As it pertains to Greg, he's toeing the line between being a genuinely nice guy that women love and a "nice guy" that feminists hate (the one that says the right things to get laid). I'd love to see where Rachel Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna (two self proclaimed feminists) take this

"The middle aged ladies really dig Greg." The CW did their homework. If that's not calling out the vast majority of Team Greg shippers, then I don't know what is. Their almost as bad as the Daryl Dixon fangirls of The Walking Dead. If Greg murders someone, they still would find an excuse to ship Greg and Rebecca.

If Heather is on the show to be a no bullshit person who tells Rebecca that Greg is the better option, then she is a PLOT DEVICE. If Josh is on the show to be a well meaning dumb guy whose only purpose is to be compared to a supposedly better option (Greg), then he is a PLOT DEVICE. If Valencia is on the show to be a

Is it Heather's purpose to convince Rebecca that being with Greg is the better option? Is it Josh's purpose to be a dumb guy with no growth as a person? Is it Valencia's purpose to be a hateful bitch? If those are the reasons for their presence in the cast then they are being thrown under the bus.

Considering how Hollywood works, it actually would be a disservice to throw minority characters under the bus so as to benefit the white characters. So it's not a good idea to throw Josh, Valencia, and Heather under the bus as a way to bring Rebecca and Greg together.

The funny thing is Rebecca isn't clueless. She knows Greg has feelings for her, yet she still friendzones him

It would be a PR disaster for the CW if a show that won a Golden Globe got cancelled the first season. I predict a 13 episode second season, at least.

Greg isn't the male lead. Josh is the lead, and Josh isn't a plot device so Rebecca and Greg can be together.

Rebecca does treat Greg like a backup plan. She may have had a good time with Greg at the taco festival, but she also got along with Trent over dinner. For being in love with Rebecca, Trent got a door slammed in his face. I expect the same with Greg.

So you're going to waste millons of dollars and have crappy ratings to tell a story that's been told a million times before? If this were a normal rom-com, Greg and Rebecca would be together. This isn't normal.

If Rebecca ends up with someone, it will be with someone not yet cast. That I can agree with.

If Greg and Rebecca are meant to be together, what's the point of the show after the first episode?

Greg/Rebecca shippers are treating this like "The Rebecca and Greg Show" with Josh, Valencia, and Heather as subplots to Greg and Rebecca being together, if the minority characters have plots or subplots. You figure the rest out.

Santino Fontana and Vincent Rogriguez III have said in separate interviews (look for them online, I'm not going to look for you) that Greg's problem is being into girls who aren't into him. Greg/Rebecca shippers are trying to redefine the laws of attraction, when it's crystal clear Rebecca is not into Greg. The first

Are two feminists (Bloom and McKenna) going to "deliberately" make the male lead an Asian guy (Josh), only to throw him under the bus for Greg's benefit? Like I said, Josh might reject Rebecca, but Rebecca isn't going to willingly want to be with Greg.

Is being treated as a plot device the same as being a fully realized character? Greg/Rebecca shippers have been watching too many rom-coms.

Sorry to the Greg/Rebecca shippers, but the minority characters (Josh,Valencia, Heather) are not plot devices so that the two white characters (Rebecca, Greg) can be together. This show would have been over a long time ago since Greg and Rebecca kissed the first episode (and it wasn't even treated like a special
