Man...I thought this was the best one yet.

Something which has bothered me to see from some of the more extreme fans. - declaring Discovery to be “trash”, actively wanting it to be cancelled and dismissing it as the worst thing in Trek history.

I get why people are frustrated with the show, and your review touches on some of what I consider to be the strengths and weaknesses here, but when a reviewer comes right out and says they cannot review a show on its own merits, I am forced to wonder if they’re the right person for the task.

I have a lot of respect for

It’s also hinted at with his new Ult, which he activates while screaming, “I AM OPEN TO BDSM!”

I was sort of OK with his apology until he said, “maybe we were both misremembering,”.

I was listening to an NPR story about the Iron Guard (aka The Legion Of The Archangel Michael), who were Romania’s Nazi movement before WWII, and also a real pack of fucking psychos.

It’s careful business calculus: Nazis weren’t going to buy a game about killing Nazis, so there’s no revenue lost by marketing the game against Nazis. If they changed the theme of the franchise to appeal to Nazis, longtime fans of the franchise would revolt, resulting in them losing their core audience in the hopes

Incels are the funniest, in a sad and scary sort of way. They’re not “involuntarily celibate”, they’re just entitled assholes that don’t understand that women are...like...people and shit. There are plenty of unattractive people that get busy on the regular, they’re just shitlords that feel entitled to women and can’t

It was the most classic Star Trek episode yet. Issues of moral philosophy set on a backdrop of expedience and threat.

VERY Miniature paintings, I’m guessing;)

A lot of people do, in fact, need a reminder that nazis are bad these days.

Why cares? They’re Nazis.

Sure Jan

“Sad story but I’m going to be an asshole anyway.”

Fuck that.

Tardigrade, the sleeper has awakened!

I think it’s reasonable to look at a show (or whatever) that strongly attracts a particular type of asshole and wonder if the reason you (generic you) like the show so much is that you are more like that type of asshole then you suspect. Not that it’s necessarily true, but that little voice in the back of your head

Rasmussen was from the 22nd century. He stole the time machine from the guy who was from the 26th. But I think the relevant similarity is using time travel to steal artifacts, which Rasmussen was definitely doing (even if to reverse engineer them into inventions in the past). Also shades of “Captain’s Holiday.”

Look, you realllllllllly are adding a lot of unearned smugness for something definitively wrong. It wasn’t Bannon’s “opinion” that played a major role in the primary, it was the fact that he directly connected Moore to semi-establishment R campaign workers, fundraisers, and sympathetic media figures.
