She got fired. She didn’t quit. Her “bad vibe” didn’t get her very upset back then. She only left when she literally had no choice. She’s a flake.
Another good one: Being willfully obtuse about a point. Very well, then. Let’s carry on elsewhere, then, shall we?
Always a good arguing tactic, the Incredulity lead in. I didn’t defend anybody. I defended an ideal. Good luck with the placarding.
Yes. WE do. Collusion is not the issue....Although Simpson got off for EXACTLY what you have just said: Spontaneous Collusion of dozens of people..... The entire legal system is built on the idea that one is innocent unless proven guilty. I doubt that you have heard the entirety of the testimony of these 50 women and…
I suggest that one occasionally gets the clear feeling they are not going to like someone. I don’t believe this is the same as recognizing an evil aura. I also say her claiming NOW, that she had a psychically powerful sign that Cosby was EeEevillll, is just her jabbering in an interview.
*steeling himself for the inevitable arguments, he says* Yeah. Cosby hasn’t been convicted of anything, so we have to leave open the door that he’s not guilty
Whether Cosby is guilty or not, this snippet of the interview is hincky bullshit. She had a falling out with the dude and now gets to point and say “See? I win!” I contend that “sinister shadow energy” is not a thing.
I agree the ending was in keeping with the story. I can also agree the ending was NOT very satisfying. I have argued that Ava just didn’t care about whether Gleeson survived, but he ultimately gets out.
I just saw this. I haven’t read the source material, like I had with The Arrival. I feel like this movie is trying to draw in pieces of several other stories. There are pieces of The Arrival, of Solaris, of Sunshine, even of Event Horizon.
A number of years ago, there was a series of commercials with Clive Owen in them about a car or something. I remember the cool commercial. I don’t remember which car. I’m not telling you you can’t hate the trickery, but I say that commercials can still be viewed as art of a kind.
Nice point. Though AvClub really has changed to clickbait since the Kinjapocalypse.
Huh. I really enjoyed that. I actually only looked at it because I thought it was Tulip from Preacher, but that was really good. The woman (FKA Twigs? Is she a thing? I’m old.) really sold the journey. That it’s an ad is sort of bleh, but it was a good little short.
The character the show made was not the character the book made. Andrea was an awesome CanDo person in the book. In the show, she was a pinchfaced naysayer and general pill.
I quit the show a while ago, Mr. Handlen, but always came to read your reviews. I enjoyed the griping, having fallen out of love with the show. Thanks. Good luck on The Path.
Just checking, and I mean this as a real question: Are we calling that good singing she did there? I see there was an aborted Standing O.
It sure has. Interesting, from a anthropological standpoint.
It’s getting to be that time, I guess. I really liked your work. I’m sad to hear of your passing, sir. Rest Well.
I thought they all did well in that season. It was the story and writing that screwed the pooch there. But the pooch was well and truly screwed
No thanks. Just some dry white toast for me, thanks
