Originally I was only interested in this because of Mendelsohn, Clarke, and Jackson. But then I saw that a Mr. Robot writer was involved and got cautiously optimistic! That was a mistake. I get that you have to turn your brain off for 90% of MCU product, but JFC was this stupid.

Even by MCU standards this was ass. A badly written made-for-tv movie that got chopped up and slightly padded out to stretch it just long enough to get 2 months of subs.

They could probably make more money if they expanded the Youtube Premium Lite program to more countries. People will pony up a bit to avoid commercials, but what they charge to bolt on the unwanted music program is ridiculous.

Don’t get me wrong, I like The Big Chill.  But I’d have picked Bastard Out of Carolina, The Notebook, The Great Santini, The Prince of Tides, and Glory all ahead of it for movies from SC.  Maybe even The Secret Life of Bees too.

They had me at Rosario Dawson.  (still not renewing my subscription when it runs out later this year though.)

His scores are certainly iconic, and it’s impossible to think of my childhood growing up in the 70s and 80s without them. But I don’t think, with the possible exception of Schindler’s List, that I’ve loved any of them. Unlike many others, I’ve never put any of his on just to listen to them.
