Okay, I just re-watched it (I wasn't joking), and a few thoughts:

Other way around for me: I don't care much for s-apostrophe-s, even though I recognize it's inconsistent.

I'm surprised to see it judged so harshly….

Hey now, I'm a condescending atheist and I rather like the movie!

Noche Tussin!

I'm going to have to rewatch this, but I certainly don't remember it feeling bland or ridiculous.  It's been years, though.

I would watch that.

So… Arthur Edens's Bread?

If you mean the s-apostrophe, there's plenty of disagreement on that point, so it comes down to personal preference. Depends on which style guide you use.

I am still listening to "Chain Smoker" on loop, all these months later.  Dear god it's such a great song.  I have quibbles with bits of the album here and there (ugh, Gambino), but nothing has brought me as much pure joy this year.

Minor nit:

Holy crap.  Did you see the watercolor backgrounds at 0:44 (and a few times throughout)?  Wow.

That is a perfect list.  I agree completely.

Okay, I have to know who "those guys" were that gave her such a hard time in Class.  Rob Lowe?  Andrew McCarthy?  The director?  Tell stories…. This is why we do interviews!

Exactly the comment I was coming to make.  Their banter is so acid, it belongs in another movie.

@avclub-cc225865b743ecc91c4743259813f604:disqus : are you thinking of last season's "Reincarnation"?  That was in three parts: Fleischer Animation/ classic video game / japanime.

It's the concept that bothers me: they skewer these shows for being lazy and cynical (true!), but they do it in the laziest and most cynical way.  That's why I called it hypocritical above.  It left a really sour taste in my mouth, although I did laugh at a couple of moments.

Yeah, I have to agree with this.  I laughed a few times at how committed they were to shtick (and Nixon's improvised censorship was pretty funny), but there's something uncomfortable about the whole concept of the episode.  It's an attack on three other cartoons for the sins of (respectively) cheapness,

Oh god, this episode, and "Lady".  I don't think I've ever seen something on television that made me simultaneously cackle like a monster and never, ever want to watch it again.  So painful!  So funny!… but oh god, so painful.

I'd find this a lot funnier if he absolutely loved the song and couldn't shut up about it.
