Seriously. Crunch is brutal enough on VFX in the best of cases; this is going to be murder. And anybody who gets sick or can’t do the hours at this exact moment will be at risk of getting blacklisted for future projects. I don’t envy anybody involved with it.

I never really thought we would, but was always rooting for it. I’m just saying: the Night King reaches Bran in the Godswood. We think he’s going to kill him... but instead, he turns away and Zombie Hodor strides up, to Bran’s surprise. He lifts Bran from his chair, and carries him after the Night King to an unknown

Zombie Ned would’ve been fine, but I was holding out hope for Wight Hodor.

Only thing it was missing was Uncle Benjen. Although frankly, the Night King accidentally raising him with all the other deados would’ve made more sense than his last appearance.

Did we see a living Missandei at the end? It would be cruel for them to off her without warning, but it might make for a huge gut-punch when Grey Worm and the audience finds out next week. They were clearly setting up for Grey Worm to die, so I could see flipping it around with Missandei dying instead.

“I set off to generate an entire world for the sole purpose of teaching myself how to play a video game better.”

Wasn’t the case with mine -- still very short even with the cap.

I don’t see your point. Obviously accomplishing difficult feats is a source of pride and respect. But how is that diminished if somebody else accomplishes a lesser feat? The free solo climb of El Capitan wasn’t less impressive because there are easier hiking routes. I didn’t get less satisfaction out of beating

There’s a difference between a mountain and a man-made thing, though. If they were to build the Washington Monument today without an elevator because they wanted to symbolize the difficult ordeal of becoming a country or whatever, and make it an accomplishment to get to the top, that would be unacceptable.

You could make the same argument about physical businesses, though. Not every hotel or restaurant or store was for everybody until the Americans with Disabilities Act required them to be.

I recently deleted Hearthstone from my phone and uninstalled Slay the Spire from my computer so that I could focus on an all-consuming, month-long work project.

Ha, for all I know we spoke before I bought the strategy guide and you explained that the crystal imprisoning Xorphitus had four different faces and you had to chisel each of them, or gave me the order of the damn drawbridge steps, or something of the sort. I never did play any of the others, for some reason, though I

From the ‘90s my favorites are all FFIII-related, but if we want to take it even further back:

Well put about FFIII. As I said in another thread, having your heroes accidentally bring about the apocalypse and then have to overcome guilt, fear, and depression to make it right was breathtaking.

I still think FF3 has perhaps the best plotline in all of video games. Our heroes literally bring about the destruction of the world, then have to overcome their guilt, fear, and depression to restore some light. If the Shannara Chronicles can get a series, surely that can...

Not realizing there were different kinds of fish and killing Cid, then preparing to commit suicide, was quite something when I was 14.

Interesting, I had a completely different reaction to the aesthetic. There are certainly some bleak areas (looking at you, Deepnest), but I thought it had more than enough moments of wonder and color and delight to keep my spirits up. That said, it definitely has an air of melancholy, and the “plot” was a bit tired.

Funny, I recommended that to somebody on Twitter just yesterday.

Yeah, it’s so much like Dominion that trashing cards is pretty much automatic for me, unless I get Stack or Aggregate right from the beginning. Without those, I tend to remove cards every time I visit the Merchant unless there’s a good relic for sale or a card that’s crucial to my deck, but perhaps that’s a mistake.

If you can combine Burst + Corpse Explosion, you can sometimes kill an elite just by killing its minions. It’s a good time.
