No, but there is a “redshirt” setting where every killable NPC is dressed like a Star Trek ensign.

Missed opportunity using the Monopoly police officer in place of, say, an Enclave soldier. But those tokens are hot - I’m tempted to get this just to use them as meeples in other games.

How many hours of cutscenes are there in a Bioware-style game? I’ve never tried to add it all up. If there are only a couple hours total, then I could see them reaching the level of the best animated films. But if it’s, like, 10 hours, then I have trouble seeing how a studio would ever decide the cost is justified,…
Doesn’t look like anything to me.
When they put original Baldur’s Gate over BGII and Fallout over Fallout 2 I figured that they just were doing series instead of particular iterations. But then how do you explain Diablo 3?
I hated the Chalice Dungeons (but beat all the non-root dungeons because addict), but those boss-vs-boss fights are AWESOME.
Oh, I have no trouble being cynical...
Even more true. I think of myself as Gen X, but I’m really Gen Y, the generation that turned out not to matter.
While us Gen-Xers, we think if someone’s out there holding a football, they’re just getting ready to pull a Lucy on us

Have there been any significant updates to Darkest Dungeon since the beginning of the year? I played for a while last winter before tiring of it, but if they’ve kept innovating I might dip back in.
Believe it or not, Binding of Isaac and even Super Meat Boy too much for my Chromebook (Toshiba Chromebook 2) to run. It’ll work for a bit but inevitably overheat. Lesson: even though you can switch to Linux, you still probably shouldn’t.
Just don’t push it if you play a game that overheats your computer and causes it to shut down. You’ll shorten the lifespan of your laptop if you repeatedly overwhelm your computer by running a game it can’t handle to the point it shuts off, but there shouldn’t be any meaningful damage if it just happens every now and…
That’s OK - it was a good comment no matter who you were responding to!
I keep waiting for the counterrevolution to the open-world fad, where well-crafted linear gameplay comes back into fashion. Something tells me I’ll be waiting a while...
On top of that, the American use of the term “mafia” came from New Orleans. To say a game about 20th-century organized crime in a fictionalized New Orleans isn’t about the Mafia because the protagonist is black is as historically ignorant as it is racially blinded.
Will the Loo-Lau wedding have a luau?
“You have quite the treasure there in that Horadric blender!”
So excited for more Isaac... although given that I averaged almost an hour a day on it in 2016, this is not great for my New Year’s Resolution of playing less video games and/or a wider range of games.
... which is basically how every parent would describe their teenage son if they were being honest and/or charitable
