I love this! I’m sorry you lost your mom, but glad you had that moment.

My story isn’t spooky or scary but it’s the closest thing I’ve ever experienced to the supernatural and I’ll never forget it.

Apologies in advance for the length. This story happened about 6 months ago, and I’ve gone back and forth on whether I should even post it. Last April, I decided to take advantage of one of the last cool evenings of the year and go for a walk while my husband waited for our food to arrive (we relied heavily

Oh, and I have another slightly spooky, kind of nice story! A good friend passed away earlier this year. He was actually the last person I dated before I met the above ex. We were basically friends with benefits, and, thanks to our entirely shared friend group, we stayed friends even after I started seriously dating

My story isn’t scary, just a little creepy, and maybe even a bit nice. Should be a good palate cleanser after all the terror from the others.

It was late October as several friends and I sat around the kitchen table playing with my best friends Ouija board. The board had been passed down from her aunt and clearly showed the wear and tear of years passed. We lit candles, argued over who would go first and giggled like the teenagers we were as we summoned

I used to work at Appuldurcombe House, a stately home on the Isle of Wight, it’s down the road from me. It’s kind of famous because it’s where the origin of “peeping Tom” came from as Lady Worsley who lived there banged so many people she was major tabloid fuel for 18th century newspapers. The house got bombed in WW2

This reminds me of 10 years ago when I went to meet a guy for a 2nd date about a week after our first blind date. I wasn’t sure if I recognized him when he walked up to the restaurant so I asked, “Dave?” and he said “Yeah, <my common name>?” I said, “I wasn’t sure that was you!” And he said, “It’s not...we’re looking

Yikes! I’m glad she was more seeking attention and not malevolent!

I’ve hiked in the Superstition Mountains in Arizona quite a bit. One day I wanted to try somewhere new that wasn’t too taxing and still scenic. So I bypassed my usual trails and went to an area with a parking lot and set off from there. There was a paved path and once it ended, the trail led into a steep wash (kind of

Yes on the “everything goes silent” bit. Years ago, 2001 -2002, my son and I were the only ones home, in a house that was haunted, I swear. My husband was taking evening classes so it was just myself and my two year old son at home. I was kicking back on the couch reading a book while he played on the floor nearby

This story is 100% true, and I’ve actually never told it to anyone before, because I’ve always tried not to think about it. I have zero belief in the supernatural, and, well, I just try not to think about this too much.

This is a tale from the 90's, that long ago time when land lines ruled king of communications. It was during this hypercolor era that I was left alone one evening on my family’s 120 acre plot of land in the Great Piney woods of East Texas. The house that we lived in was a bit ramshackle with the original shack my

You can see them all over the District of Columbia. I was at the zoo once, and people were taking pictures of a damn deer that snuck into the walking path of the zoo.

Hi. I’ve been reading this scary story series for years but have never taken the time to tell my story:

When I was a senior in college I spent about 18 months living in a 100 year old house owned by a relative. It was right in the heart of the city, on a busy street that was one of the main north-south thoroughfares, in a neighborhood where there was only about six feet or so gap between the houses.

I will start this off by saying I do not believe in ghosts or spirits or the afterlife, but I experienced something a few years ago that spooked me to the core and still gives me the chills when I think about it today. I was living in an apartment in the Flatbush area and had been there for a few years with no issues

I am so glad you finally got free of him and the addiction. That takes a lot of work.

My father has always been a history buff, specifically interested in The Battle of Little Bighorn. He began collecting items related to that time in history when I was in Jr. High, including uniforms, swords, a battle flag, letters and photos. He now frequently loans out to museums and historical societies, but for
