That’s not how I read it. Smith would certainly ALSO say the guest was repugnant for the comment, but he is clearly saying that Carlson’s not challenging an attack on their colleague by his guest is repugnant- as the article stated.

Huh, if that’s what Smith said, he did call Carlson repugnant. Repugnant refers to letting the comment go “unchallenged” and “attacking our colleague” has to refer to Carlson as Napolitano is not a colleague of the guest.

It was spoken and whoever transcribed it didn’t bother to put in the punctuation. It does make sense if you can add in the proper punctuation- as someone did in another response. It took me a re-read too.
