A PR nightmare because a restaurant didn’t seat an incomplete party? A practice of the vast majority of restaurants? The LW wasn’t exactly foaming at the mouth- more of asking a question which slightly perplexed her. If she, or anyone, is in a restaurant with a bar, is uncomfortable sitting/standing in the waiting

The vast majority of restaurants you’re talking about don’t have a bar to park anyone- let alone 6+ people at. It’s not some secret unwritten rule that if you don’t arrive with your full party, you don’t get seated until they are all there- especially if the restaurant is busy. That’s been standing operating procedure

With the perpetually late people we’re talking about, I don’t think we’re talking about 10 minutes. The people I deal with with this problem are minimally 1/2 an hour late for everything. 1-2 hours is not uncommon. My dad was once 4 1/2 hours late to pick me up (at my house) and I wasn’t even surprised. Growing up

But you’re letting them control your time! If people are consistently late on me and leave me sitting around awkwardly, making excuses for them, missing (at least parts of) events, etc. I let them know that they are showing disrespect to me-my feelings, my time are clearly not important to them, and that’s a problem.

They aren’t practiced at it so much as they charge people to be there all night- at least at the French Laundry. A meal there with wine is going to cost you about $500 per person and they don’t worry about turning your table. It’s a completely different situation than ‘normal’ restaurants.

Wow, that’s beyond rude. Those restaurants are all holding a table for you for a minimum of 15 minutes and basing their reservations (in the meantime) and the wait time they are quoting other customers on the belief that you’re going to show up- some of those people will decide to go someplace else whereas if they

You’re not giving up the table of 6 with a reservation- they just have to wait until their whole party arrives. Few groups storm off because they can’t be seated until everyone (or nearly everyone arrives). It’s also a hassle for the server to have to come back to your table multiple times for drink orders, etc as the

That doesn’t make sense. She’s not talking about tips, she’s talking about how much the restaurant makes.

I’ll add a thank you too. Just watched her video- loved it and will watch more- the next one in the queue is on incels

Uh, you know the tax proposal went through, right? That already happened and was massive. And the smaller govt thing, done and done. The judges are in place at all levels. Chaos is here and has been here for some time.

I wouldn’t use a time machine to kill Hitler during WWI as I might get killed first. If you had to go after him during WWI, do it while he was in hospital, not while in the trenches.

I’ve only read/listened to a tiny bit of Peterson to find out what he was about. I stopped almost immediately as almost every word out of his mouth (off his keyboard) was an objective lie. Ask your friend if he really believes that 50% of men never have children because the alpha males hog all the women. Ask him to

It’s the idea that laughing at bogarts destroys their power. The actors portraying LeBeau, Klink, and Schultz were French, German and Austrian Jews. While ‘Klink’ and ‘Schultz’ were able to flee to the US and joined the Army, LeBeau ended up in Buchenwald and was the only member of his large family to survive the

The ONLY thing that will move them is if they see catastrophic personal polling in their individual districts and states combined with news that they have become radioactive to K street/corporations. Then they will become suddenly righteous believers in justice and country over party. A couple (Graham) tried that way

“SUVs will experience rollovers more than 75 percent more than regular cars. Furthermore, the NHTSA reports that despite great improvements in standards between 2006 and 2009, the safest SUVs are still more likely to rollover than the least safest sedans or coupes.

Thanks, that is a bigger car than I was thinking. Still stand by the fact that SUVs flip easier than sedans, etc.

It really depends on what you’ve been looking at, where you are located. Depending on the how tenacious the advertiser(s), you can click onto something once and get targeted for ads for YEARS.

No one is talking about banning. Private clubs and companies can decide to employ him, he doesn’t have a ‘right’ to that employment, he, nor his fans, do not have a right not to hear from people who disagree with that employment or to buying tickets for his shows. Free speech cuts more than one way.

I’ve known quite a few people who have been t-boned in cars- none of the cars flipped over. This one flipped over on it’s side and then did a complete 180 flip on reaching the curb/verge. SUVs are well known for a propensity to flip at almost any provocation.

The person I was replying to is angry that that are any consequences, like people getting angry, clubs choosing not to book him, people choosing not to go see him based on his actions, so absent that- yeah, there would be no real consequences. Consequences are losing jobs, money, respect, etc.
