I work at a museum and our gift shop is probably the only shop besides the grocery store I have spent more than 5 minutes in during the last two months. YAY museum shops!!

There is a whole history of East Germans giving their children French or American-sounding names back in the GDR days ... To sound worldly and sophisticated - unfortunately, if pronounced with the quite peculiar East German accent, you rather achieve the opposite...
