I agree 100%. The problem though, is that sometimes there is another side worth giving some thought to. I won't miss cabs, but I can sympathize with how shitty it would be for the protections that exist for my job to just disappear overnight.

It's not fair to position this as an "app vs. cabbies" debate, it's a "licensed and regulated professional vs. unregulated yahoos" debate. Watching Law & Order doesn't make me an attorney any more than owning a '03 Civic makes me a for-hire driver. There are good reasons for strict oversight of cabs and good reasons

This isn't like 10% or something... I have had it at about a 500%+ increase after a game at Dodger Stadium. The thing is you take an Uber down for $30 and then when you try to get home it is $150. Not inclement weather or anything. That is pretty fucked. It is taken to an absurdist extreme.

i use uber every time i want to pay twice as much as a taxi, which means never

hahahahaha he thinks that is offroading...that would be like calling a chihuahua a large dog

Aww, the poor beta-male is getting worked up on the internet. Play nice guys, he might get a case of the vapors!

Seriously. I don't get it.

My *mom*, who is pushing 70, drives a stick.

You pilot it, you don't drive it. I'll calm down when I am goddamn good and ready, who the fuck are you? See it is interesting that you call me elitist because 'the faults people find in others are most often faults they themselves have'. Plus, you have basically a dinosaur that was intended to be an off-road 4x4

I stand by my 'Anyone but Saab' statement.

Not arguing with you that the ads are annoying and possibly ineffective, but...are you a comm major? Sort of wondering how you qualify to hold forth.

always nice to meet a fellow anal fan... Go Brewers!

I don't mind if people ask...

Except these days *everyone* claims to be an introvert.

Uh, that's not what's happening at all. They're not subsidizing kei car sales as much as they used to through drastically lower taxes than standard cars.

Kei car taxes are still lower than standard cars, under the new system.

If Japan ordered their automakers to stop building kei cars, you'd have a point. But they

MADHOUSE

This happened at Hyperfest, an annual event that allows ANYONE with $50 and a semi-safe vehicle out on a CROWDED track with an instructor. Injuries and crashes have happened numerous times at this event in the past, once to a friend I know personally. Because it's not a "standard" HPDE, you get a bunch of boy racers

Sure hope you accidentally clicked on Jalopnik instead of Jezebel. Srs.

People like you are the reason i became a real pilot and not a Microsoft Flight Sim expert.
