Black on black crime (and indeed black crime overall) was far lower in the 1950s and 60s when segregation and institutional racism were far greater. I have no problem with his protest and his right to do so. I do have a problem with what he is protesting. He makes vague statements about police shootings of innocent men of color. Of course that’s a real issue, and it’s an easy one to get behind. But it isn’t central to the plight of young black men in this country.…
