I don’t think there’s anything wrong with giving them more capability, but up to this point the major advantage to buying a console for gaming over a PC was that you could just buy your game pop it in and play instead of dealing with

Problem with that is download/install times have always been part of the price of admission for PC gaming. One of the appeals of buying a console is pop that shit in and play. It’s no secret that the new consoles are inferior to the last gen as game consoles. They’re just computers that can’t do as much as a computer.

Huh? I had the OG Xbox and not once did I connect it to the internet. Popped in the disc and played the game (about 60 in all). Took ZERO type to set up.

The problem being that this is not a simple complaint about him not liking something about the console that is a matter of taste. This is a complaint about a console not doing the thing it is intended to do (and yes, no matter how much multimedia features get crammed into it, it is still a game system at its core). No

The whole point of having a gaming console, is that it is easy to setup and play games.
