We almost bought the HRV or new Crosstrek, but they felt very underpowered in both CVT and MT form. It wasn’t a significant size upgrade from 2nd gen Honda Fit Sport MT and mpgs weren’t that far off from the new turbo CRV. So we got the new CRV. The HRV would be a fun ride with the 1.5T, AWD, and stick! We’re still

Very nice! but isn’t that more of a lift-back?

Ugh... I still drive a relative of these - a 97 Prelude SH. Yeah, it’s pretty damn reliable. It does, however, have the immobilizer key sys, steering wheel club, after-market alarm, under video surveillance, and stick-shift!

My wife and I (no kids or dogs) just got the new CR-V and it’s freakishly smooth, quite, and pretty awesome on the hwy with that Honda sensing suite. We’re coming from a lifetime of very small analog stick-shift Hondas (Civic, Fit, Prelude) so this was a quantum shift for us. I image the Pilot feels even more

Beyond “image”, generally a minivan would’ve had big sliding doors, a tad bigger inside, and a lower flat floor at the expense of AWD and ground clearance. Probably a tad lighter and lower CG for better mpgs and emergency handling.

The other day we found two squirrels humping in the engine bay of our tiny Honda Fit. Good thing they weren’t near the drive belts or fan, but not sure if they finished since they were pretty mad about being interrupted.

Hmm, I still enjoy driving my 97 Prelude, which does have airbags and is heavier than an old Corolla. Is that still a deathtrap? I can’t find any crash safety info on it.

We have some of the worse infrastructure here in Oregon. Everywhere else I’ve lived in the country had far better lighting, signage, curbs, sidewalks, drainage, bridges, etc.... so this “engineering board” really shouldn’t be criticizing.

I live in wacky liberal Portland now, but grew up in rural NC and very much agree about that hatred for HRC. It’s an unfounded hatred, and to be fair, I think right-wing media has been pushing this cultural divide for decades. I had been sharing this very accurate article even before the election which I think gets to

what about if you have 2-factor authentication enabled?

I’m more agnostic now, but grew up Catholic and had good experiences. At the time I didn’t appreciate how accepting of science, reason and progressive thinking the Catholic church was compared to Southern Baptists and all the other Evangelicals in my rural NC town. With the new Pope, things are even more forward

I was staring at those too. I’m sure it’s just the rain and dirt causing that pattern after many years on display.

What’s the TPM on that thing? (Tires/mile)

True, but to be fair, while the Honda Fit/Jazz is classified as a B-segment subcompact, it’s actually the largest in its segment with interior room rivaling larger compacts and crossovers. It’s why we love our Fit as a daily driver/city runabout, but after several years we’re looking to replace it with something a big

Having just returned the other day from a vacation in Paris (and Amsterdam) I can honestly say I would hate to drive a car there. Even in the US I hardly needed my car when living in SF or DC, due to the traffic, parking headaches, and available mass transit. It just doesn’t make economic or practical sense for most

Ah I see. Thanks. I’ll have to research if my old Dlink can be used in that way.

Is it possible to use an old wifi router as a repeater to my new wifi router? Could I just link em with cat6 cable?
