Are we looking at the same photo? There is only one non-white guy in this photo...

I live in Manitoba, which along with Saskatchewan, is the Midwest of Canada. I have never owned a truck, and have never needed one. Even when I lived in a rural area for 20 years. In fact, every car I’ve owned has been small, and I’ve done great with those.

I’m all for camping food being as simple as possible. I try to subscribe to that after camping also.

I want to know what the real world MPG is between those. I much prefer the smaller bodies, but if they’re cheaper to run (repairs aside) the full size 4 cyl is very interesting.

During a Grey Cup party (CFL, eh) my friend’s mom pulled out a sealed bottled of 10 or 12  year old Canadian Club Whisky. Only thing is, the paper strip on the cap said it was bottled in 1975. 45 years old, and it tasted fine.

So no change in taste. Good to know it keeps well!

How do people let beer sit that long? Even if they bought it for a party and aren’t beer fans, at least give it away to a good home!

That’s why I only buy local IPAs/Pales at the liquor store. All of the shipped in beers sit and sit and sit. Occasionally I’ll find one with a “canned/bottled on” date that’s close, but not often. Most of them aren’t marked at all.

As much as I dislike it when bros roll coal, I would 100% support you and your black smoke billowing Prius.

Houses with garages, private driveways, or both.

Her argument is really bad, but... happy wife happy life.

And don’t forget street parking. The snow clearing companies will wreck your EV’s extension cord the same way they wreck the block heater cords when clearing sidewalks in winter.

Which is why they should all be on the steering column.

I drove my in-laws Ford Edge today. Holy cow, what a bloated pile of crap. It just kind of lumbered down the road. And how can a car that large have that little headroom?!?

Well, there’s definitely nothing organic about that shape. The stereo and climate controls look like a total after thought, and where just slapped on there. I’m not a fan at all. Other than that big hood in the Lexus, I far prefer it’s dash to the Avalon’s.

My 05 Echo has storage pockets galore. I love it!

The Avalon interior already looks dated. What’s with the square plastic arch over the shifter? Looks like some Early 2000s design.

Absolutely. One of my coworkers (I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba) loves Florida, and for shits and giggles he checked what the Journeyman Electrician rate was there in case he wanted to move. Barley over $20 per hour. He gets $37.40 here as a non-union Journeyman. As a third level apprentice, I make more than Journeymen

Those “car guys” you seem to know should be embarrassed. My roof rack has been used more than most people’s trunks, and I’m surprised it hasn’t been worn out yet (Thule is good stuff!). This photo was taken the morning that we left for a 3 week climbing/kayaking/camping road trip with our 2 month old daughter. Now

Tire shopping is the opposite of tedious for me.
