I tried the making strike-anywhere matches (though I didn’t dip them in wax) this way, by sanding off the phosphorus, mixing it with water dipping once, letting it dry then another dip, ad then once more dipping it (this time with match head powder in water) and then letting it dry. I coudn’t get one match to light.…
