@Prairie Moon: "Saving" is almost compulsive for me, now. It's vaguely worrying. In versions of word where it doesn't delete the temporary files until you close word, I can fill up 100mb in 5 minutes. Doesn't stop with actual useful work, either, I checked the number of save files I have in fallout 3 a few days ago

@JuryDuty: Not static at all, it's incredibly dynamic! That's totally why I love it. j and k didn't move far enough for me, so I mapped J and K to 5j and 5k. The bindings interefered with GReader's, so I set an auto-command to disable them whenever focus changed to any domain under google.com/reader. I have a strange

@Joshua.H: Vimperator isn't just the keyboard bindings, though, it adds an awful lot of vimlike functionality, commands, custom bindings, plugins. Don't get me wrong, those extensions look like they do what they set out to do very well - but they're no vimperator.

I'd totally switch to chrome, but I'd prefer not to leave Vimperator behind. So, firefox is "good enough", and Vimperator makes for an awsome browsing experience. Sorted.

When dropbox goes down I walk to a corner and cry until it comes back up. Not because I rely on the service, but because I love it - they're a shining beacon of usability, technical brilliance, not deliberately screwing over non-paying customers, and the first service I can wholeheartedly recommend to everybody I meet.

screen is super-awesome when you're SSHing into a box.

And the Lifehacker "Captain Obvious" award goes to...

If it does find something, will it then use scare tactics to get me to buy their software?

@BKJ216: If it's in the repos, you search the name and hit install. It even gets dependencies for you. Linux has problems (as does any OS), but installing new software isn't one of them.

When a mummy screw and a daddy screw love each other very very much...

Still Firefox, as no other browser has replicated Vimperator yet.

Woooo! Ready to friday! Yeah! Woo!

better moderation abilities are always good - let's hope nobody ever has to use them!

@Andre Kibbe: You want them to use j, k, and /, to navigate in a search box? How, then, do I search for anything including j, k, or /?

We... need a post about this? The option is clearly labelled, right to the side of the search box.

@freedomweasel: With iProducts, you don't NEED options. The defaults are perfect, apple-assured modes that work for everybody. Or something like that.

@Archnemesis_Goldenhair: I'd be worried too, you'd have to really not be paying attention to miss Christianity :P

@Gotlactose: Nice, I love reconstructing stuff from the rubble of what came before :D @Archnemesis_Goldenhair: Oh, well that sorta puts my problems into perpective, don't it?

@KrautMcfriend: Piracy isn't ever going away. I agree, it's a bad thing, and I certainly don't advocate it, but publishers are certainly giving little incentive not to pirate.
