@Stalker: nnno, it was jailbroken using a serious security flaw that could cause serious issues if it were ever exploited with malicious intent. That's what's been fixed. I'm no fan of apple, but the outrage I've seen over this update is rediculous.

@musiqrulez: Indeed, I've seen people base entire security systems around hardcoded javascript passwords telling a server if you're logged in, which then uses a javascript redirect if you're not. Oh, kill me now.
WOO! READY! READY TO FRIDAY! YEAH! WOO! READY! TO! FRIDAY!
So I've completed 4! I don't have any other computers I want syncing, though :(
oh :(
@theamazingpete: Its really not. One thing a plain text editor should never do is alter characters without being told to, but notepad messes with line endings - that alone makes it a poor choice for anything but very basic text editing. Its not changed because MS don't see it as important, and because its "good…
@ChaosCon: Oh, bummer :(
@Prairie Moon: I read that the new stuff was apparantly much better, and it's very good, so definately give it a try!
@ChaosCon: Big data? Like, massive datasets, or really big numbers? They can be interesting, but most of the time... yeah :(
WOO! READY! READY! TO! FRIDAY!
@Meetloaf13: Windows' command prompt doesn't seem so bad until you've used a decent terminal emulator. CMD is an enhancement to the GUI, *nix shells are powerful enough that a GUI is optional, and you wouldn't lose speed or functionality. Even the little things like ~ to represent your home directory, or !! to mean…
@Armbie: For the latter it depends which license IT was distributed under. Some require you to release things using them under the same license, in which case its forced your hand, but some are less restrictive. As for what you choose, if you have that freedom, you really just need to look around. There are a lot of…
WOOO! READY! READY TO FRIDAY! YEAH!
This looks great. I've been using shared dropbox folders to share text and files with people, will give this a try.
249. Have a G5 so can't really blame the mouse... I blame the morning! That's it, I need more caffeine.
@ircmaster: Well, if I'm playing music and open a youtube link, neither gets quieter.
Lovely. It's this sort of thing that makes a PC more usable, not moving close buttons to the left or having a fancy see-through theme. I wish there were something like this for windows :(
I just asked google what the definition of "hacker" is, and one result that didn't turn up was "A large group of people who can all run scripts to connect to a webserver over and over again."
@ineluki001: I think the fact they're tracking what you're not connecting to without your permission is a bit iffy, at least.
@SamhitaMosquito: Because anybody who reads lifehacker and is interested in videogames certainly hasn't already heard of flashcarts!
