Rick & Morty: pretty good, but with a fanbase that makes me think it’s bad because of how obnoxious they are.”

Joe Pera Talks With You is just so weird and funny and heartfelt. I can understand if it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s probably the perfect AS show, in the sense that it’s so idiosyncratic that only 20% of viewers will like it, but that 20% will love it to death.

My take is that Reed and Thompson are polymaths that are interested in and knowledgeable about so many things that they have a hard time focusing on a project for more than a couple seasons. A glib description would be to call it creative ADHD.

I thought season 2 and season 3 (in particular) were really good, but it has gone steadily downhill since then.  I didn’t even bother watching the last season.

I bet Whitey here likes to pray

I have a visceral dislike for nearly everything that Tim and Eric did, but like you, I surprisingly enjoyed Tom Goes To The Mayor. Something about the visual style really clicked with me.

However, when he’s not in the movie then it becomes just a boring drama.”

Just take the L, dumbass.

“southwestern Ontario... During the 90s”

There is a 0% chance that the Mary Kate Carr tried to contact Rob Schneider for comment.

I never realized until now that the guy he hits is Porky.  What a perfect touch.

“It’s poetic justice how the closest thing Rob Schneider has to a comedy legacy is a parody of him made by more talented people.”

That’s what I was thinking.  Maybe Damon thought the overall crowd response was tepid, but I wouldn’t gauge that based to the crowd singing or not singing along to a particular song.  As someone who likes Blur but has never seen them live, I wouldn’t even necessarily peg “Girls and Boys” as a singalong song.

Which is something I should rectify, considering I love Damon’s voice.”

“Common People” was a pretty big hit here, although I’m guessing the ration of Americans who have heard it vs. the amount who have heard “Song 2" is somewhere around 1-to-10.

That reminds me of the (now hoary) old joke: “Who was better, Oasis or Blur? Answer: Pulp”

and an offbeat spaceman drama, First Man

One famed Bronco owner, however, has things even worse”

Goodyear?

Oh please, fuck off.  That’s not what he said and you know it.
