I mentioned elsewhere that there were almost certainly negotiations going on to compensate Scarlett Johansson the way other studios have compensated actors in the same situation.

The right thing to do in this case was to re-negotiate the terms of the contract given the unique circumstances

Hmm, I guess the closest transliteration would probably be “skoshe”, then?

Thanks, Carl Sagan.

“Scosche” is probably as good as any other spelling.

It took me a minute to realize what you meant by “skosh”, since I’ve only heard that term verbally. It seems like that should be spelled differently, but I’m not sure how.

Hopefully you understand that I was using the phrase “minding her own business” figuratively, rather than literlly.

I’m sure there are always random idiots on the internet complaining about something, but free agency has been around for 30+ years, and 98% of sport fans made their peace with it ~20 years ago.

Honestly, I only get paid bi-monthly, but I was trying to make myself sound more impressive.

Using sports owners as a comparison doesn’t really work, since 3 of the big 4 American sports have salary caps.

Or rather they should have just settled quickly and moved on

It is surprising that Disney decided to be so antagonistic right out of the gate.

You better pray whoever you work for isn’t on this thread. They might decide you’ve made enough money and don’t need any more. By your own words. Buy whatever you need with whatever you got already.

She’s owed what she’s owed.

I mean, Pratt top-lined GotG, and that wasn’t part of a larger franchise, unless you want to broadly consider the MCU as a “franchise”

whereas other actors have been able to do so since the pandemic started.

Are any of the other Marvel stars suing them?

“Samuel, you are such an idiot. You are the worst assistant ever and you’re disgusting. Dwigt.”

Especially for a lawsuit like this, where the lawyers probably have to spend months reviewing financial documents to determine how much the movie actually cost to produce/distribute/market/etc.

Presumably he’s suing for net profits because that’s what was in his contract. I’m sure he’d love to have gross points in his contract, but I’m guessing someone like Gerard Butler doesn’t have the leverage to get something like that.
