The logical part of my brain knows that this is a scene that has been done about 20 to 50 million times before, and isn't really something to go crazy over.

Honestly, you could take out the "Blog" and I'd find it just as laughable a source.

I'm of the opinion that their is no idea for a film or any work of art that is inherently awful. That being said, this will probably suck because Nick is just looking to make a cheap nostalgia cash grab. Maybe it could turn out like Roger Rabbit–a love letter to a certain era of animation with a strong central story

That's an amazing bit of film, but my favorite might be the dinner party scene, which elevated Naomi Watts' performance from "really freaking good" to "one of the greatest pieces of acting I've seen in my life.

I've only ever seen Mulholland Drive on DVD. I can't imagine how amazing it must be on the big-screen.

I don't like Blue Velvet as much as the other two (still great though), but that scene where Jeffrey sneaks into Dorothy's house may be one of my favorite scenes in any film. The whole thing is so tense and superbly directed, I was sweating by the end of it.

Oh and FLCL. When people make jokes about how weird Japan is, with its squid porn and anime hair, I remember that show and mutter to myself, "if that's as weird as you think Japan can get, you don't know the half of it."

Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive, full stop. Those films just caused me to sit in silence, wondering what the living fuck I've just witnessed. I absolutely love them.
