I read DD comics. I think Cox is fantastic as Matt Murdock. He gets the Miller/Bendis/Brubaker version of Murdock. Its spot on. There are many versions of Matt because Waid's Murdock is as far from Bendis or even Miller's.
I got goosebumps from that scene. it was spectacular!
What the heck are you talking about? Fisk and Murdock in that jail cell scene was amazing.
You should have stuck and continued because the best parts of Season 2 happens in the episode 'Man in the Box' and in my opinion that scene is some of the best ever.
I read DD comics - Punisher and Elektra are two iconic arcs in the comics. I think what the writers did wrong was cram 2 very different arcs into one season. DD and the Punisher have a very long, bloody, storied and complex dynamic and sometimes I felt like it was rushed. Certain things that took years to build up in…
Matt and Claire have insane chemistry
There's a hilarious story from Waid that had DD fighting Stiltman and throughout the entire thing DD is going "Stiltman? the worst villain ever? and this group hires him? why?"
He IS the dog and even better. He has heightened hearing, sense of smell and a 360 degrees radar sense. The only thing he doesn't have is eyesight but the radar sense compensates giving him a distinct picture of the world. The only thing he can't do is read what's on a text message or on a screen and I doubt a dog…
The treatment of the Hand is very Miller-esque and it is very 80s ninja in the same vein as those American Ninja movies I used to watch. I think Brubaker's run was better at incorporating them into the story. They were more discreet. I think the ninja concept could have been rethought and maybe it should have gone…
JJ was just filled with too much poor and downright silly plotting (supermax plan was stupid. Who in their right mind would go into a police precinct with a head so she can be put in a supermax facility? Even comics Jessica would probably slap her) not to mention that if you really think about the story and dig…
I don't mind waiting for that long as long as season 3 is an adaptation of Daredevil Born Again (no more Hand and Elektra in this one) and will be showrunned by Drew Goddard.
I think that part of DD hasn't aged all that well. The Hand is great in the comics but not in a live action format.
Agreed on the comics part. I was thinking adapt the part where she meets the psychiatrist and talks about pseudologia fantastica or when she goes looking for Mattie in an underground nightclub. I've seen a few people (including myself) complain but I though t that Jessica in the show was vastly different than Jessica…
I agree. And its a shame because the writers and show producers had tons of great material from Alias (Jessica Jones' comic series) to pull from. The first parts were mostly standalone stories. In fact, Killgrave doesn't appear in the comics until near the end. Killgrave probably had something like 20% in the comics…
Jessica Jones lost me at episode 6. The storylines just went in circles, not to mention some plot points were silly and unnecessary. And frankly, as someone who had read her comics years ago, the entire thing just left me frustrated to like it.
Had Jessica Jones actually stayed true to her comics we would have gotten a better story. In Alias (her comics) readers got to know Jessica as a character pretty well before Killgrave came into the picture. Alias was a slow burn but it paid off when Killgrave and the extent of his evils were revealed near the end of…
I'd rather not have Jessica Jones. Lets face it, Killrave made this show worth the watch. The rest of the characters were just unlikable including Jessica. She is so far from her comicbook counterpart that it almost feels like the fans were cheated. Jessica Jones doesn't have a lot of villains and even her villains…
I think all the Hand storylines will be for the Defenders. They need a bigger threat to fight than Fisk. I'm hoping… hoping that season bring it back to its first season roots with an adaptation of Born Again.
I just don't know how they'll pull it off without Ben Urich. Ben was an important part of BA. And please don't have Karen replace him in the story. She has her part to play - a part that I wish the writers stay true to the comics.
