Yesterday I got every dime my wife and I spent on this game refunded, and we have no plans to spend any money or time on this game in the future until Niantic starts acting like a modern game studio. Their silence and ignorance is unacceptable. You would think that tens of millions of users and millions of dollars a

Here’s the thing. I heard they made something like $10 million/day at one point. Hire someone. Now. A lot of someones. They weren’t ready for this game to explode like it did. They need more hands on deck now. The money is there.

Finally somebody made good use of the Unreal Engine!

“Heh heh, hey buddy! Look at this funny joke I just made!”

I feel like Niantic was and is a small pototoes company that got a contract it in no way was capable of handling. I imagine that, of course it was far more sucessful than even the most optimistic projections, but it’s a real shame.

I get why people would be upset from the money they spent on a game they don’t like, but what I don’t get is why there was money spent on this game in the first place?

Biggest issue is them asking 3rd party tracking sites to shut down before fixing their own tracking, which has annoyed a lot of players, it is impossible now to search or track a pokemon and if you have no means to find pokemon, there is no point to the game.

I barely touch the app anymore. But good on the people who are complaining they’ve been cheated and are actually doing something about it. They could whine all day but unless they do something substantial, things won’t change. Though I do feel for Niantic. They’re trying to “protect” they’re game and disuade any

They bearly update their own Twitter lol

The game became far more popular than they were prepared for, and this turbulence is the result. You’re absolutely correct in that they need to have someone designated to help communicate with their community, as the small-dev silent treatment doesn’t work when you’re the app of the hour.

Niantic has been terrible at communicating with its players. Maybe literally taking money out of their pocket will send a message that they can’t ignore.

It feels weird that he gets a copy that shouldn’t have been out and then goes white knight about spoilers. I know its his copy but something about the way he changed feels like legal action.

I think no mans sky need to spoil a bit more. It’s pretty, they’ve showed some salvaging. I’m not excited. I was, but after months and months and months of waiting its dropped off my to do list completely.

Not much to spoil unless he was showing game mechanics but even then how to you spoil an entire universe lol

This is a weird game. I remember when it was revealed at E3 and it was pitched as an indie $20 title or something. The hype took over and they changed it to $60. I don’t expect all that much from the game. It’ll be a lot of the same and very generic. If it surprises me, great, but that’s just what I think.

He spoiled the illusion that this game would look great.

What's there to spoil? That there's an algorithmically identical blue planet and an algorithmically identical green planet?

“It takes the fun out of it”

When developers say things like this, I kind of think they’re idiots. YOUR definition of “fun” is not a universal definition of “fun”.

I’ll tell them what. I’ll stop using the API scanners as soon as they fix the fucking 3-step bug. How about that?
