Is it "squaring the circle"? Just Googled "impossible problem phrase" and it's the first hit. I tried several variations and that keeps coming to the surface. I've never heard that phrase before, but as an engineer I don't tend to deal with problems typically considered impossible.

How long will it be until someone comes up with a method to make a Beowulf cluster out of these things?

I hate to admit this but as I live with a woman I am sometimes subjected to Lifetime. The werwolf twins were an ex-con and innocent high school girl pair of lovers on some goofy Lifetime movie that aired hours before their first appearance on Being Human. I was trippin' out!

+1

SEC filing != IPO

A lot like this, I'd venture to guess. Seeing as Oldsmobile was killed a few years back.

Googled "strung bow instrument mouth". Clicked on the "did you mean to search for..." on Google since it thought strung was a typo. First link to Wikipedia. Creepy mountain folk in the video lead me to believe it's the Appalachian "mouthbow" or "mouth bow".

People fear what they don't understand, and what they don't understand is...understanding. They'd rather read out of a 2,000 year old fairy tale how the universe works than try to learn about what actually makes things tick.

Have they added an "enhance" feature yet?? :)

No love for 8mm?

I do believe you meant to say that Spock taught Alt-Scotty how to transport onto a ship moving at warp speeds, not how to build a warp drive...

So "NSTY HOE" gets a post but when I tweeted you a photo of CA license plate "VEGASBJ" a few weekends ago, not so much as a mention? Pfft.

An food item that can't be eaten in a particular way is not automatically terrible and yet you provide no other evidence for calling a Chipotle burrito terrible. How about this - Chipotle burritos are wonderful because they enable consumer choice, whereas an iPhone does not. ;)

The thing that gets me is that he says nothing in the explanation about the other big blaring logo in the image - there's a hotel off to the far left and that's how I figured everything out. I did miss the Google logo though, I assumed that the amnesiac might be in the doctor's office literally 500 feet to the west

Yes, Gizmodo farked that one up but not getting the full res image through the usual "Expand" button in the lower right corner.

<- What he said.->

That is easily explained away - security. I don't think you want the device that is capable of autonomously directing what is in effect your life support system broadcasting what it's doing for all to receive. The Empire surely had cryptographers.

Reasonably certain that Boothby probably cleaned a toilet or two in his day. And I can't imagine that Picard's family ran that entire vineyard without some low level help.

Ehm...there've been ship's logs and captain's logs as long as there've been ships and captains...You might be more correct in postulating that made the idea more visible to society at large but they hardly invented it.

Could be worse. Could've been a volleyball. Little bastards as so arrogant they just ignore you. Even when you call them by name. And it's not as if they've got anyone else to talk to.
