So, the AV Club just stopped doing this? No updates anymore? Cool. Thanks new AV Club. You’re doing great (Insert eye roll emoji here, in case my sarcasm wasn’t clear)

I’ve been on this Earth a long time. I don’t remember a time any person was referred to as “urban” where it wasn’t code for “black.” Maybe white people refer to other white people as “urban” but I’ve never witnessed it.

Katie Rife deserves as warm and as voluble a send off as AA Dowd got in his Iron Man 3 retrospective. Rife has a wonderful appreciation for the psychotronic side of movies, the weird, the bad and the cult-y. This isn’t a perspective you see a lot in film criticism, but it is an invaluable one, which celebrates unloved

Me think me speak for many, many readers when me say writers who keep this site going in future not really issue, as this is last time me will click on site that me loved for so many years. ***A COMMUNIQUE FOR THE POSTERS KNOWN AS THE COMMENTARIAT***

At the risk of self-indulgence, I’m gonna pop down here for whoever is poking around in the comments section to say that this is my last A.V. Club review. (I believe that’s the case for everyone writing an A.V. Club movie review this week.) This is really more of a farewell-toned piece, ICYMI:

Hey, look, Clone High is streaming!

A.A. taking a bow with a solid B, on a superhero film no less? Now I’m real excited

Farewell Dowd. You and basically everyone working at this site were so much better than J/O Media deserved.

Dowd, I’m glad the last movie you reviewed for this site was a halfway decent one. I’ll miss your good work around here.

I loved season one of JJ. Buuut I am, one a man (arguably), and two have no personal experience with SA. While I still found it to be an often brutal exploration of the theme, it’s also felt like a very honest one. Only, ya know... with super power people. And Tenant is just so damn good and terrifying as

You can’t escape me Shocker! I’ll customize you to the ends of the Earth!

You are right that digital goods have value. We’re not seeing that in NFT and crypto markets though, as prices are not reflective of true value, but of layers of scams and price pumping. LuLaRoe pants have value as pants, but the whole enterprise is pyramid scheme all the same.

UnREAL season 1 was great, definitely worth watching. Season 2 was a nosedive, and seasons 3 and 4 are best not spoken about.

Last weekend, I said I had started Dollface but that it didn’t really grab me in the first episode, so I’d give it one more to see how that went. I watched the second one, then blew through all of season 1 and part of season 2. Kat Dennings is ostensibly the star of this show, but Shay Mitchell is the MVP. Her

Ali Wong doing a standup special when she’s not pregnant just feels completely wrong.

Get out the ole VCR and record from your TV as you stream the episodes!
